Question for singles - are all matchups online nowadays?

I met my wife thru a church softball team. Back in my day I was in a church singles group and it was a great way to meet a future partner. I knew of married couples who met during a canoe trip, while working on a charity project, or thru sitting by each other at a ballgame.

Now back then I did try meeting women thru magazines for singles but nothing long lasting came of them.

But nowadays all I see are these dating sites. So my question is, do people still meet their future husband or wife thru everyday life?

Well, while I’m not single, I do deal with couples as part of my work life as a wedding photographer. I always ask how they met. I would say it’s somewhere around one in five of the couples I work with that meet online. So, no, not yet nearly the majority. Or at least not for marriage, and with about a two-year lag time (seems to be the average for engagements.)

I met the Big Crow at a neighborhood donut shop that I used to hang out at. He’s not a donut-type guy but decided to stop in one day after a meeting across the street. The other tables were full so I invited him to sit at mine. Over a year and a half later, we’re still together.

Me and Mr.Wrekker met at the Sonic drive-in. We were parked next to each other. He had his radio so loud I couldn’t hear to order. So hollered at him to turn it down for a minute. He felt bad and paid for my coke, and that is where the legend started. We go to the Sonic every year for our anniversary.

I met my wife at the library.
