That episode somewhat reminded me of when I was dating a girl with severe bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. She would deliberately do things designed to make me angry, and then go off on me when I didn’t get angry. Apparently, my failure to get mad was a sign that I didn’t really care about her.
Yeah. I agree, he should’ve talked it out. But it did look like he was near his breaking point. Considering all the crap Dora puts him through, I’m surprised he doesn’t act like that more often.
Yowza. Now that sounds like a relationship where you’re truly walking on egg shells!
ETA: Just read the last couple strips, and now I really feel bad for library/waitress girl. And I’m kind of wondering if Marten is sighing because Dora had another melt down or if it’s just been a really long day.
It seems to be a progression of people who are sighing because they’re not entirely pleased with who is (or isn’t) sharing a bed with them, so I’m thinking it’s the former.
“Goddamn Bianchis.”
And poor Hannelore is comic relief, as always. I feel for her.
I like the “Hello Kitty” version.
Exactly. It took me several projects to get better at my procrastination, and I still struggle with it. I also have friends whom I see occasionally, but only occasionally. Right now Steve and Marten are drifting apart, and that’s what happens to real people too.
Which Hello Kitty version?
Pffft. John Allison (Bobbins/Scary Go Round) once deleted a character from all the other characters’ memories, permanently, just after banishing her to hell. And at least that was sort of a denouement. The initial leads of SGR were abandoned for some fair-haired girls from* Bobbins.*
Here. It was referenced on the main page.
Marten is an annoying little shit and is so (relatively) meek and passive I have to think Dora is doing him with strap on. Faye, despite whatever traumas she suffered as a child, is (at root), a fairly nasty bitch, and is now tormented by someone who is an even bigger asshole than she is. SHE is the one he doesn’t want to acknowledge the relationship with Sven as anything other than as a mutual booty call, so it’s kind of hard to see why she’s frustrated with Sven’s willingness to do exactly this. I mean what does she expect, he’s doing exactly what she has specified. She has tried several times to play the domination games with him the way she dominated Marten, and keeps getting slapped back, and apparently keeps getting more frustrated when this happens.
Where’d you find that? I looked on the homepage and didn’t see any link to it.
ETA: Nevermind, I see it…
Stupid question - who’s in panel 3? I feel like I should get it, but I’m totally not.
EDIT - Is it Penelope or whoever at the coffee shop who’s mooning over motorcycle riding bad poetry writing friend of Sven?
Yup, it is indeed Penelope.
Oh…

Please don’ t screw it up Marten,
Dora and Marten breaking up would make me Sad
For some reason I pictured Penelope being sort of a neat-freak.
Anyway, I wouldn’t be too heartbroken if Marten and Dora broke up (I don’t think they will). Marten hasn’t done anything wrong, so it’s horribly unfair of Dora to treat him the way she does.
