The prom ones make me wonder if these kids are in some sort of fashion design program and this may be their final project dance. There is definately an amature/homemade quality about the materials and designs.
Well, they’d have to be homemade. What shop would make those clothes?
The fifth one from the end…guy in profile staring into his phone… Oh my. Looks like someone crossed an Elizabethan-era doubletwith a whole load of ugly.
Judging by what I’ve seen displayed at local shops that cater to the quinceanera crowd, there’s a disturbingly good chance that these were purchased.
They arent attached, they are bondage straps. You can buy them in assorted colors.
It was, Gay Pride in Amsterdam in fact. The tell tale sign is the bollard with the three X’s behind the man. That’s the Amsterdam city logo. And if that picture was the most questionable the photographer got during the whole parade, he wasn’t looking hard enough.
That outfit is NOTHING to be “proud” of!
Thanks. I had no idea what they were.
Darn, missed the edit window.
Like this?
Yes. They were somewhat popular when I was in high school.
Far out.
I assume he was there doing his part to fight the stereotype that all gay men have an innate sense of fashion.
Also, the type of pants they’re on are often (almost always) referred to as ‘Rave Pants’, and they’re really big in the Melbourne (Australia) rave scene, and probably elsewhere with a rave scene too.
I tried to get some on eBay once, and they were nearly all shipping out of Melbourne.
Kind of off-topic, but too freaky not to mention. One of the extras (wearing something mostly reasonable) in one of the pictures looks EXACTLY like me.
Yes, if you have to ask…
Still, thanks for the laugh!
(BTW where were these taken? It looks like somewhere in Northern Europe.)
Should I confess I thought the prom pics were kind of sweet? I don’t think they are the usual prom outfits you might think of in the suburbs where I live, but they clearly have a style that is specific to their time and place. And any time teenagers try their hardest to look nice and adult, no matter how odd the specific fashions are to my eyes, is a delight.
That was my reaction as well. There is a certain clumsiness to the designs and they do not hang well, like the fabric is cheap or not sewn properly.
The wolf on the wolf shirt looks like it was stung by a bee.
On the next to the last prom picture, look at the expression of the girl with the Playboy Bunny gym bag. I think she spotted the happy couple.
From the same site, 39 funny signs.
The guy in the last prom pic looks like a cadet at West Point Disco Academy.
