Questions about CASH CAB

The first time I ever saw Cash Cab was on vacation in Germany. My German is pretty spotty, and it was still a fun show. Anyone know how many different countries have a Cash Cab?

I wish they would do it in different cities from time to time! Cash Cab St. Louis!

I saw it for the first time on vacation … I was impressed. I can get a sizable percentage of Jeopardy questions - even Final ones (admittedly not under the gun for real, I am sure it easier playing at home and not having to buzz in) - but I was blanking on many to most of the Cash Cab ones. The few eps I saw had some of the hardest questions I’ve seen on a TV show.

My favorite though was these two women who missed everything including some very very easy ones and left protesting all the way “We really *are *smart!”

A lot. Apparently, there’s even two in Canada (the English, and a French version).

I’ve been watching some repeats of Cash Cab the last few days. I probably seen about 20-25 episodes in total.

I don’t ever remember the Cash Cab leaving Manhatten. does it ever go to Brooklyn, or Staten Island, or even New Jersey?

Haven’t watched the show, but it runs before something I record, so I did catch the disclaimer at the end. They confusingly state something to the effect that the contestants are not aware they are going to be on Cash Cab until they get in the cab, but then some of the constestants are pre-screened. I didn’t understand that, but Joey Tightlips gave an explanation.

Cash Cab East St. Louis! would be even better.

Maybe that post explains the reason why the cabs never seems to leave Manhattan. (and usually goes about 30-45 blocks)

Ben Bailey is back! New episodes on Discovery, two weeks from today!

Yay!

I’m looking forward to the show returning.

I hope it hasn’t changed too much.

Ben Bailey had a stand-up show on Netflix a while back; it was pretty darn good.

I saw the episode with the biggest money winner ($6600?); that was intense–I never cheer at the TV.

Cool! Thanks for the notice!

Wow! A zombie thread I’m glad to see.

Now this is how you resurrect a zombie.

Thanks for the info.

I’ve been a on Facebook a few times and been part of the new “online shoutout”. They ask the question on Facebook live and you can type in your answer and they take it or not.

I learned something recently about this show that made me feel a little less like a lot of the contestants are very stupid (or very naive): the stack of money they get (and almost always flash around after they get out of the cab) is fake. They get a check later, because taxes.

Flashing a big wad of cash in NYC never struck me as the smartest thing to do…

I always assumed that was the case. If someone had told me it was real cash they were waving around I would not have believed them.

I think the reboot may have to eliminate the home shout out.

Alexa could easily supply answers in a few seconds.

I remember on the old show they wanted answers from home shout outs quickly. So people couldn’t jump onto a computer and type the question into Google. Alexa is much quicker at giving answers.
