It continues to amaze me how many questions of this nature are asked, and I have to ask myself if people think that because of the title of this MB these types of questions should be asked here.

I realize it isn’t up to me to set parameters , but I’ve often wondered why there isn’t a disclaimer of some kind. I cite as an example the phrase "Would you like me to knock you up?"

In Australia it means shall I knock on your door to wake you, but here in the US, it means would you like me to get you pregnant. This leads me to believe that perhaps some of our newer members are misunderstanding the title of our message board? Is this possible?

Again, I’m not advocating censorship, and wouldn’t anyway, but I have seen more than one mod step in and make a correction or close a thread because of this.

Just wondering.

We do get a few people, every so often, who search the internet for “Dope” (thinking drugs) and so come here. They usually post once, asking something stupid or illegal, and are set straight by the members.

Not much we can do about it, short of changing the name, which the READER ain’t willing to do just because there are a few dim bulbs out there.
