Questions about Live Journal

I’ve been checking out Live Journal at http://www.livejournal.com and thinking of starting a journal there. I’m really confused at how they work things, though. You either have to be “invited” to join–that is, know someone who can give you some codes, or you can pay–which isn’t really too bad, considering that you can get as little as two months for $5. I’d probably go for the year’s worth, though. But is it worth it? I understand that it’s more than just a place where you can make a journal that it’s more of an on-line community–I’ve been following a friend’s journal online there and have been getting a take on the community feeling that way.

Anyway, if anyone can help me out here, please do. If you’d like to contact me via email, that’s fine too. Thanks in advance!

I love having an LJ and find it a great place to write out stuff that’s on my mind and keep up with what friends are up to. Check out the sdmb community (not affiliated with the straight dope in any way):

Hope you enjoy your journal.

Thank you so much, Francesca! And thanks too for the link to the sdmb community there. Please look for tarragon918 on livejournal. I’ve already made my first entry, yay!
