I am currently making a trade that will net me 20 LJ codes, and I asked the other person to send me one “test” code as a sign of good faith before I do my part. I don’t personally want a Live Journal (I use a journaling script that I wrote on my domain), and I’d hate to see this test code go to waste. So who wants it? All you have to do in return is tell me promptly whether or not it works.
I’ll email the code to the first person who posts that they want it. Please email me back ASAP so I can decide whether or not to make this trade.
Just in case anyone is confused, this is a test code only in the sense that I am making sure this girl is for real. If the code works (and it more than likely will) it will produce a normal, functional free account Live Journal. Which is why I am not testing it myself. It’d be harder to give away an account with a name already set and all, than to give away a code.

Excuse my ignorance, but how does this work?
I’m slightly familiar with LiveJournal. You need a code in order to have one? Does one normally have to pay for this code?

LJ is so popular that if you want one, you need a code to start one up. You can get a code from someone who already has one. I’d give one out, but I already gave mine away. You can start an LJ without a code, but you have to pay for it. (It’s $5.) See here for more details. I’m sure all of the codes listed in that thread are taken by now, though.

That does seem rather silly when there are other “live” journal websites out there, such as EasyJournal.com, which cost nothing and do not require a “reference” as such.
Yes, and a lot of those other sites are even using the exact same script, since LiveJournal made it open source. But LJ is popular anyway. People like it.
Like I said, I use a php journaling script that I wrote. I just thought it would be fun to get ahold of 20 codes and give them out in creative and interesting ways.
