Questions about "Whose Line..." points

Some questions about “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”…

[li]Were contestants on the British show allowed to carry the points over to the American show? If so, did they have an specific exchange rate?[/li][li]What do they do with the points? Can contestants carry the points over from one show to another? Can they redeem them for merchandise?[/li][li]What happens when Drew awards points to the audience? Do they get to redeem them for nifty door prizes or something?[/li][li]Do they have auditors checking Drew’s results? I’ve been keeping score at home, and frankly, I’m not sure that Drew’s been adding the points up correctly.[/li][/ul]

Everything is made up and the points don’t matter. Of course, for those of you watching on an American TV, all of your questions about the points will be answered during the show.

The points dont matter, like a Democrat in Texas.

The only point I want to know about that show is if there’s a video online of the time Wayne accidentally lifted a guest’s skirt.

Ryan occasionally remarked that he was saving up to buy Drew’s desk. No word on whether he did save enough or, more likely, spent them on hookers with bad teeth on the British version. Although he did at one point ram his head into the desk and break the lights on it.

Drew: The show where everything’s made up and the points don’t matter. That’s right, the points are like the Daytime Emmys. They just don’t matter.

Drew: I award you 1 trillion points! Take that, Regis!

Drew: So Colin gets a thousand points, if you’re scoring at home. Or even if you’re alone.

Is this the one you mean? (it’s 8 minutes into the video).

Yes they were allowed to carry them over. However, there was the lousy exchange rate of 5 PGB to 1PUS, compared to the market rate of 1.894PGB to 1 PUS.

They can either redeem them for worthless crap or more points.

[li]What happens when Drew awards points to the audience? Do they get to redeem them for nifty door prizes or something?[/li][/QUOTE]
The audience must pay taxes on all points won. Because of this and the labrinthine redemption process, must audience members choose to donate their points to the contestant of their choice.

Yes, the auditors do keep track of the points awarded. Drew does in fact add the points correctly, but due to editing, it is very difficult to keep track at home. The penalties incured by the contestants are almost always edited out because they do not make very good TV (imagine a county board meeting; long, involved, and very boring). Above all keep in mind that the rules book for the show runs to something like 1800 pages, of which, 1200 or so havve to do with scoring.

Forgive me, but even though I know this to be true, I can not find a cite to support me.

Accidentally. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhtttttttttttttt.

Okay, so can they redeem the points for cash instead? Granted, they’d still have to pay taxes on all the points. I can’t imagine that the tax rate would exceed the actual monetary value of the points, though.

I think if they redeem the points for cash instead of prizes, Drew gets a 10% kickback or something like that.

The points don’t matter, only one thing does.
