Quick, I need to know if anyone has heard a quote like this

OK guys, I’m pressed for time here, and I am hoping that one of you have heard a quote with this phrase in it. Hopefully I’m not hearing voices here, but it seems to me that this quote is a famous one. I don’t know the whole quote of the wording, but I think you’ll get the idea.

“The ability to laugh at ones self…”

I’m not sure how it would end, but has anyone heard a quote which expresses the idea that it is important to be able to laugh at yourself? Thanks

Well, at Funnies I find:

“The ultimate test of maturity
is the ability to laugh at ones’ self.”

but I can’t find any source for that quote.

http://www.quotation.co.uk didn’t turn up anything.
http://quotations.about.com/arts/quotations/library/blsearch.htm didn’t either.

Sorry.

I got something similar in a fortune cookie last weekend…

“Laugh and the whole world laughs with you; cry and you cry alone”. (Kinda fits) Try looking in Jon Bartlett’s Book of Quotations.

A book? Damn, when did they invent that?

“The ability to laugh at one’s self is hilarious in other people.”
-Me

“Cry, and I’ll give you something to cry about!”

Means that one will never cease to be amused.

I don’t know who may be famous for saying it, but my sister said it to me years ago (wrote it, rather, in a letter.)
No help, I know.

Will I be damned,
or be forgiven?

I think I found it, Omni

“Happy is the person who can laugh at himself. He will never cease to be amused.” – unknown
