In Madgolf’s pit thread, you said that his thread was closed: “This is not the proper forum. Thread closed on account of extreme stupidity.”
I am not (repeat, NOT) complaining about the moderation or the banning, but I’m a bit confused: I thought political rants, however stoopid, went in the Pit.
Assuming he hadn’t been a sock, where would the correct forum have been for his post? Certainly not GD. And I’m assuming that the “extreme stupidity” thing was just a shot, not some new standard–certainly MadGolf’s post (while clearly brain-damaged) wasn’t any stupider than many other political (and non-political) rants.
In reading the combination of the thread about MadGolf being a sock, and her post in the Pit thread, I’m assuming that the “stupidity” was that he was a sock, and that the “wrong forum” was any forum on this board, given that he was a sock.
I think that the post was not appropriate, as written, for any SDMB forum. Some posts just shouldn’t be made on this message board. Extremely stupid posts, for one thing. I’ve closed stupid threads before, and in this case, even if he hadn’t been a sock, I’d have closed it. There is enough stupid floating around that we don’t need more of it.
And yeah, part of the stupidity was PAYING for a sock account.
