I bought and installed a new wireless router this morning. It did not come with anything that has the IP address. Is there a simple way to find out the IP address of the router?
Try typing 192.168.1.1 into your browser. Or else tell us the brand/model and it will be easy to look up.
ETA: If it’s not the above, try 192.168.0.1
Usually on the underside there is a label with default IP and administrator password.
If there isn’t a label and assuming that your computer has already connected to the router automatically via DHCP, go to Start, Run, type “cmd” without the quotes and hit enter then “ipconfig” and enter. You should see the router’s IP under “default Gateway”
