Quicken Problem

This is extremely irritating. Despite my screen name, I have only just started using Quicken. Anyway, instead of using the automatic online download of my account details, I have done this manually (importing a .qif after downloading from online). I did not notice what was going on and imported the .qif about three or four times. Instead of recognising that there were duplicate transactions, it has just added ‘New’ ones. There are 900 of them. I cannot go through each one individually and delete them all. There must be some kind of way to delete the downloaded log and start over. Please tell me there is.

Quicken78 - I feel sorry for you - what a pain in the A**! I haven’t had this problem, however, go here

and perhaps they can help. Good luck!!!

You can always go into Quicken and choose File -> New and start again. You will need to give the file a different name from the first attempt and the first attempt will still be on your disk, but you never need look at it again. To get rid of the first attempt, let’s say you called the file amarone. You need to find it on your disk. In Quicken, click on the file menu and at the bottom of the menu it will probably show you the full file name. In my case (on Windows XP) it shows C:\Documents and Settings\default\My Documents\Quicken\amarone. This would be for the file created as name amarone. So the files are in “My Documents\Quicken”. Open My Documents and go to folder Quicken. Now in there is a bunch of files called amarone.*. Delete them all.
