Quote function just stops working at times

Maybe just Yet Another reason why Newer isn’t always Gooder.

I am using an ancient version of Firefox (3.6.9, which some may recall was current about the time of Christopher Columbus) with an equally archaic version of Ubuntu Linux with Gnome. I’ve never seen the problem being described here.

BUT – I’ve also NEVER been able to get Multi-Quote to work. Yes, I’ve tried it with JavaScript enabled (which is not my usual mode of operation). Yes, I’ve seen it work with IE on Winders. But on this here system, whenever I want to multi-quote, I have to do it The Hard Way with lots of cutting and pasting.

Using Firefox, he quote function stopped working, so I switched over to Chrome, worked no problem.

Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do so.

Still happens to me quite often. Firefox 30.0.

I run into this occasionally. Possibly of note: both the unquotable posts linked in this thread contain links themselves.

Firefox?

I have experienced plenty of board problems in my time, but never this one. I use Firefox, kept up to date.

I tried quoting the posts in both of those links: no problems.

I posted this a couple of minutes ago. The text box was empty after clicking the preview button, so again I had to go back one page to post it.

Aye!

Ach, hoot.

What I meant to say is I don’t think I’ve run into the problem on Chrome.

I did have the problem with Internet Explorer on multiple computers.

No problem with Firefox here. I have run into it before very, very occasionally, but I just assumed it was a board hiccup, since I could always go back and quote again.
