What is wrong with you people? I guess its not right for a new guy to act like an old user and make a sarcastic comment. If any of the regulars were to make the OP everyone would have laughed and continues in about the same vein but not been so harsh just sarcastic themselves. Has this guy been such a pain in his 14 posts that you want him out? Did I miss something?

B_Line12, an old evil Reg posted a similar thought (if in somewhat more coherent fashion) several months ago and received a very similar treatment (including a mock that closely matched the one Da Ace did here) to the one bedbug received–up to the point where bedbug came back at 9:34 and whined that we were all mean, followed by his Pit-like kiss-off.
I would say that bedbug earned every post after 9:34 (although you guys should really have had this tossed into the Pit).

Trust me, even if David B had stepped in here and told me to stop it, he’d have garnered the same response from me. Telling someone their post is off topic is one thing; telling them to change their posting style is another. So, when bedboy posted his OP, I gave as good as I got.
There’s no sarcasm in that post at all, and I’m not buying that cutesy-pie little smilie at the end of the post.
Battles are won in nuance.
Is this the same person as Bedboy, Bedboy 3, and Bedboywholosthispassword? I thought we were only allowed one moniker per warm breathing body? Or are they a team, or a family? Or does he get a new one every couple of days? Why?
Obviously, when he said, “This is my last post,” he meant “to this particular thread.”
And (pause a moment to put on bulletproof vest and helmet) I actually thought he had kind of a point, sort of. I’ve been reading through the Archives, and I notice that there are Some People who feel impelled to quote enormous chunks of text where really only a sentence or two is required. I get the impression that it’s just easier for them to set it up to quote a paragraph, than to have to find the particular sentence you want to quote.
I also notice that Some People like to pick a post apart, line by line, and respond to it that way, which, yeah, could get kind of tedious to scroll through (especially if you’re impatient for it to end so you can get to your own immortal contribution!)
So, yeah, I kind of agree with Bedboy, but I probably wouldn’t have expressed it quite so bluntly. Not all of us are gifted communicators. 
In my journey through the Archives, I also read a thread from way back when, dealing with when the member/non-member and post count was added, (you don’t really want me to post a link to those long-ago hot-under-the-collar debates, do you?). I saw that Some People were extremely annoyed by this addition to the MB (no, I didn’t take down any names!), feeling that it might lead to “my count is bigger than your count” slamming and “just posting this to pump up my score”. Interestingly, it looks to me like they were right on both counts.
I believeI may have made a disparaging reference to the habit that Some People have of picking a post apart line by line and then responding to it.
Naturally I wasn’t referring to Ace’s brilliant takedown (above).

As YankeeBlue has already said (thanks, Yank!), yes, it is from the They Might Be Giants song “Birdhouse in Your Soul.” I felt in a sig-changing mood the other week, and wasn’t able to think of anyone who was using that song. (Though I think the lines I quote make a great sig, especially on a board that can as argumentative as this one, so I was surprised that I was the first one who thought of it.)
