That’s why I suggested the feature be made optional.
The world is a little less shiny for me tonight now that I know that stupid xkcd strip actually has a forum. Jaysus.
I didn’t know that either. I really like the strip, but those forum rules sound like a turnoff.
Some folks would chafe under this one,
I like the last sentiment, but it’s a little startling to see that moderators may edit for amusement.
To mods also is reserved the use of red text (rule 10). Threads complaining about moderator actions are forbidden (rule 12).
Multi-quoting is specifically encouraged.
Then stay away from Mallard Fillmore | Comics Kingdom.
Easily done because there’s no way a lame website like that exists. I’m going to Rickrolled or end up watching old, fat, naked men in the shower together which I won’t be able to close short of restarting my computer. No thanks.
Still wanna know exactly what she meant by foe…
It has been explained. It was a reference to what we call am “ignore” list. “Foe” is the opposite of “friend.”
The tone of this seems somewhat inconsistent with a Pit thread titled “Quote sniping is fucking annoying to read and respond to.”
We’ve convinced her with our eloquence. ![]()
So do I, I do it all the time. I wish others would do it more.
And I’m with whoever said it’s annoying when someone quotes the entire OP in the first post. Or any post, really…one would think that anyone reading a thread will have read the OP even if they haven’t read anything else.
I can’t believe I almost missed this gem. I should really start doing vanity searches.
That’s because you’re a fucking retard who can’t follow more than one simple idea at a time. Sorry, some of us enjoy engaging in multi-threaded discussions, and it makes more sense to reply to a point directly under it, instead of quoting a huge chunk of text and making your reader search through it to find exactly what you’re responding to.
Are you seriously stalking me now? Depressed that we got you banned as Morella? Don’t worry–only a matter of time before you expose yourself as a troll again and we get to wave bye-bye until you make the next sock.
Somebody else bitched about my wall-of-text posts in the WoW thread. They got a fabulous smackdown.
Aw, Palooka, I never knew you cared.
Woman.
Love you, too, Bricker. ![]()
Your posts aren’t walls-of-text, Shot. They’re more… irregular picket fences.
Oh, as further evidence of your retardedness, rachel[del]Mor[/del]ellogram, I love that two of your three “examples” are simply me multiquoting to reply to multiple people in the same post, *exactly *as your beloved xkcd forum *instructs *people to do. The only example where I pulled a post apart line-by-line was when a staff member responded to a reasonable question with an inexplicable series of hostile rhetorical questions, which I decided to treat as literal as a roundabout way of pointing out how bizarre they were.
If it would make it easier for you, I could start writing simplified versions of each of my posts on trash and then throwing it in front of your house.
I have no idea who Morella is. I just signed up here recently. I’m sure an admin could run an IP check; after all, sockpuppeting is against the rules here. So I’d be banned if that were the case. And you see, rachel + parallelogram = my name.
You’re welcome to make another thread about this, if you like.
(don’t engage the crazy)
I figured it’d be best to head off false accusations before others got the idea and joined in. Just in case.
Is SFG generally seen as a troll?
Nope. She’s also not a picky bitch who wants to change the way an entire board parses quotes. So there’s that.
I was open to contrary arguments in the first post, and remain so. But yeah, I still think SFG’s posting style and attitude are shitty.
nyah nyah nah boo boo
This Pit thread has been the utter shits! Three fucking pages before anyone starts to use pit-appropriate language. If SfG hadn’t finally showed up and called the OP a “fucking retard”, then I was going to have to call everyone in this thread who was being polite and reasonable a total fucking fuckwad, or something. Using multiquote while naming names, of course, so as to piss off the OP.
