You’re not very nice.
Shut up, all of you, you cock-riddled man-mattresses.
With bed bugs.
From a purely aesthetic viewpoint I rather like that. It rolls nicely off the tongue.
Entire board? Like maybe a handful of dudes do that here, and most of the rest of us find it slightly annoying. Mind you- passing a rule against it is not a good idea.
SFG engages in Mod-baiting a lot. It’s sort of a “troll-lite”.
She baits others too- loves to throw around the “you’re a retard for doing…”. I’ve been in her sights myself.
So you’re saying she’s a master b…no, I can’t bring myself to say it.
Most of the rest of us= a handful of people in this thread?
From what I can see, you do not use “quote sniping” nor have I seen it much used here. What the OP means is taking a quote from a poster, then breaking that quote into multiple quote boxes, with a reply to each. Almost no one does that here, and it *is *annoying. It’s very hard to read or respond to.
True, she’s also a shit-stirrer.
Perhaps she has applied the “half troll template” from 3.5 ed D&D? ![]()
I guess I think it’s pretty tactless for someone new (if she really is new, I doubt it) to show up (especially from some nerd board of some horrible webcomic) and start in on a posting style she’d like to see banished especially when (according to you) few people use it. Wouldn’t it just be easier to ignore the individual(s) in question and go about your posting day?
Actually, she seemed to make it more of a board netiquette query, which is reasonable.
She said she’d prefer not to see it. I’m going to assume she means she’d like to see it gone. We can play semantics games about it back and forth but I’m thinking that’s what she means. I doubt it bothers most people as much as they just want to come into the thread and be catty about SFG
Just my two cents
nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd
truuuuuueeeeee:D
I never said I wanted to see it banished. The thread was not made with the intent to change anything globally or enact a rule; I’d have posted in ATMB if that was my intent. The intent was to rant about something that annoys me, and get feedback on how the practice is viewed in a forum with which I’m not yet familiar.
Additionally, I stated in the original post that ignoring someone over style is childish and I’d prefer to avoid doing that. If you’d read the thread (or you know, just the first post), you would know that.
I read that as bananable offense.
We should have bananable offenses…

Oops. I do this, but didn’t know it was annoying. (And still don’t understand why.) Responding line-by-line pointlessly is anal-retentive, but when I use the feature it’s usually just to get 2, rarely 3, excerpts from the quoted post.
And since automatic nested quotes are disabled here, the snipped (sniped?) rigmarole disappears when one responds to the sniping (snipping?) post.

So let me see if I have this right… One choice is to quietly ignore someone whose posting style annoys you and the other choice is to make a Pit thread complaining about how a few people handle quotes. You believe that the second choice is the one less childish?
I see.
