Will & Grace’s Rosario, Shelley Morrison, has died on Dec. 1. She’ll always be remembered as Karen’s maid on 68 episodes of the popular show.
Santa Maria!
I only knew Ms. Morrison from W & G and she was perfect in that role. Great comedic timing and even though she didn’t have a huge role, one of her well delivered one liners could steal a scene.
Thanks for the laughs, Shelley.
I remember her character from, “The Flying Nun,” (I was 7 or 8, so I didn’t know her name): flinging Spanish Spoonerisms with glee.
Sister Sixto [Shelley] (bringing plate of dinner to Sister Bertrille’s room): That’s gravy!
Sister Bertrille [Sally Field] (playing guitar): No, “groovy.”
Sister Sixto: Fine, that’s “groovy,” on your mashed potatoes.
Holy cow (no pun intended). I had no idea she was on the Flying Nun. I have a memory of hearing “Seester Bertreel” but IIRC the story was set in Puerto Rico so I suppose that could be any number of characters(?)I can picture Mother Superior and Carlos(?) and that’s about it. Now I’ve gotta get my hands on an episode and see if it stirs any memories.
