Rabbit chasing Rabbit

Could one rabbit chasing another rabbit catch him easier than a coyote could? Don’t need answer fast!

Having watched many episodes of “Roadrunner”, I wouldn’t bet on the coyote though…

Advantage: the rabbit can run through little “tunnels” through the shrubs and chaparral that could stop the coyote from following. Also actual tunnels: one rabbit could follow another down a burrow, while the coyote has to stop and dig.

Disadvantage: the coyote is larger and can sustain the chase longer, and can leap much farther. (Rabbits, contrary to their depiction in popular media, aren’t really all that good at jumping. They’re aces on quick starts and sharp turns!)

I saw a video of a pair of greyhounds chasing a rabbit for almost 1.5minutes, it seemed like an hour watching it. Very intense, the rabbits raw speed was impressive, just a hair slower than the greyhounds. I will try to find it and post the link here.

This is the only link I could get

Yes?

If No ----> How do they multiply like Rabbits?

Dang, those dogs are fast. But the rabbit could corner faster.

I saw a random video on Facebook today of two jackrabbits fighting. I just searched Google and found a ton more so I guess it’s a common thing. They stand on their hind legs and slap fight. Hilarious!

I don’t know anything about rabbits outrunning rabbits but here now are two rabbits slap fighting.

That video made me think of this post. The winner of the slap fight took out after the looser to slap him some more. They weren’t running full bore though.

That would depend in great part on whether the rabbit in front wants to get caught.
