Interesting. I am a brown-haired, blue-eyed white Anglo male of English descent.
Crushes have included Hungarian (white), Japanese (Asian), Jamaican (black), Mexican (white), Guatemalan (coffee-coloured skin, black hair), Scottish (white, red hair). Women I have gotten close to (including actual girlfriends) have included Finnish (blonde hair), Danish (blonde hair), English (brunette hair), Chinese, Jamaican (black).
So it seems that it is more frequent for me to be physically attracted to women who are different then me. Most, but not all, of the women mentioned were from other ethnic groups than mine.
That’s just physicality, though, the part that hits a man in the face as he travels through the world.
Once I start to know someone, that physical attraction can be set aside to some degree, depending on whether I like them or feel comfortable around them. And sometimes the physical attraction can come later.
I remember noticing a gorgeous women when I was sitting in the cafeteria in college; as I listened to her hate-filled speech, however, attraction turned quickly to dislike. On the other hand, there was a co-worker I barely noticed, but as I worked with her and got to know her, I developed a strong attraction to her. (Sadly, she was married…)
I’m male and I live in an area that is overwhelmingly white (I’m white as well) … so, just by sheer numbers it seems it’s the white chicks that get me going the most. But I’m an equal-opportunity horn-dog and I find myself staring at pretty much any comely female figure.
And I fully admit to a slight fetish for Asian women.
I want to say makes no difference, but that’s not entirely true. I generally like men who are swarthy, which may seem like code talk for “I don’t like white guys” (I’m black), but really, I’m fine with it; I just don’t generally go in for the Nordic look. All of the white guys I’ve dated have had dark hair, and most have had dark eyes too. Have also dated men of other races who were brown skinned with dark hair and eyes. That’s ultimately what turns my head in a room. You show me two side-by-side photos of the same dude, but tint one, I’m going to find the tinted one more attractive. He doesn’t have to be my race, but I happen to like physical attributes that are typical of my race, but still very common in others.
But honestly, at the end of the way, if you’re cute and hilarious, I am sold. You can be the blondest blonde who ever blonded, and if you’re adorable with a great sense of humor, game on.
After all these years, I had no idea that you were black! Whenever I used to see your username I would think of Ms. Doubtfire, now I will think of Madea.
Maybe I should start a role call for the SD blacks, Mexicans, and homosexuals!

Hard for me to say. The majority of women I find attractive are white like me. But I live in the United States and the majority of women I see are white. So that “preference” might just be sample bias. I can certainly think of numerous examples of non-white women I find attractive.
Black men. Very black. Luckily only a small subset of black men ever hit on me. Otherwise, I’d probably get into all kinds of trouble. Strangely, my husband isn’t really that dark. I guess a sense of humor and a great character trump the jet black skin I prefer.
White men never hit on me. Hispanic men either, now that I think of it. Asian men, though, can’t beat them off with a stick! Haha, just kidding. They never hit on me either.
Hmm. Why is that, if I may ask? To generalize shamelessly, I’ve seen a lot of black guys who seem to cast a wide net when it comes to hitting on women.
I chose the last option. I always found beauty to be highly individual, rather than racial. That being said, just from my experience, I think that most people are attracted to their own race or ethnic group more than others, generally speaking.
I’m a Caucasian male…but damn, I’ve always been all about hot Latina women. In fact, I’m married to one. Even the porn I watch is Latina (or at least all brunettes). The whole blonde haired/blue eyed Nordic ideal that every other Caucasian seems to prefer around here is lost on me. Coincidentally, my best friend is Mexican, and he’s married to a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman. The funny thing is when we go out together, which we do at least once a week, everyone assumes his wife is mine and vice versa.
White male. I have been attracted to women of every race, but I do find Caucasian women to stir my motor more often than those of other races. But, honestly, if ‘mixed race’ were an option, it would probably register pretty high too. I find that those with a very nice mix of our traditional ‘race’ distinctions tend to be quite attractive on the whole.
“White Latino” (As in, majority European ancestry, get the “but you don’t look Latino” comment :rolleyes: ) male here – I dig ladies of a variety of ethnicities with no clear majority so far. Main factor of attraction seems things other than “race” – body shape, bearing, attitude.
