Are you missing that it says “group or groups”, meaning it already includes the other option? “What’s the difference”-style questions aren’t necessarily asking for the difference–it’s just a polite way to tell the OP that he screwed up.
I’m always willing to admit my mistakes, but I’m still not seeing it. Let’s say that we have 5 racial groups in our universe. I ask you and your 3 friends (assume all of you are males) to list the groups that you and they find most sexually attractive in order. Assume that you and your friends are members of Group 1.
You say 1,4,5,3,2 - You would select Option 1
Friend 1 says 3,1,4,2,5 - He would select Option 2
Friend 2 says 5,2,3,1,4 - He would also select Option 2
Friend 3 says 2,3,4,5,1 - He would select Option 3
While I put in an “Other” option, I didn’t think it would be as high as 20%. I think the overwhelming majority of us are undoubtedly capable of being sexually attracted to members of all racial groups. However, I would think that most of us would notice trends about who we prefer. Then again, I’ve lived and worked in urban and suburban areas my entire life so have always been exposed to people of all backgrounds. Maybe it’s not as easy if you live in an area dominated by one or a limited number of racial groups.
Finally, having followed this thread from the start, I have notice that the ratio of Options 1 and 2 has stayed at rough 1/3 the whole way through while the ratio of Options 4 and 5 has stayed at roughly 1/4 the whole way through. Very interesting! Perhaps a Stats expert can help analyze this.
“More” instead of “most” would have been more clear to me, but I think it would take a little more explaining than that to be all the way clear. “I’m attracted to members of my own race less than some other races but more than some” or something.
The overwhelming majority? ALL racial groups? I doubt that.
