I may have participated in such debates, I don’t know, but calling people stupid in GD just feeds the mods. I was talking about real life where I don’t tolerate that kind of crap.
Race, Income, Illegitimacy Rates, Incarceration Rates, Teen Pregnancy Rates, Educational Achievement
I don’t believe it’s a culture issue or a race issue. It’s an income class issue. Black people are more likely to be lower income class than White people because of racism in the past. This is why are they more likely to experience the negative effects associated with the lower-income class, not because of culture or skin color.

Perhaps you have heard of “the talk”, what every parent has to warn their children about not asserting their rights in the presence of cops. Perhaps you are unaware that residential segregation while no longer government enforced, is still very real, enforced by landlords (including notably one with the initials DJT), real estate agents, and zoning laws. Perhaps you are unaware of the fact that the constant stress of being a second class citizen causes constant release of cortisol, which eventually damages health. Perhaps you are unaware that since real estate taxes fund education in most places, poorer neighborhoods generally have much poorer schools. You might study these questions.
I think everyone is sort of missing the point I was trying to share. My point wasn’t that blacks have high rates of these things. My point was that when you point to these things as the alternative to racism as the reason for racial disparities in income instead of current racism, you are ignoring the fact that a similar disparity in these things between whites and asians is not creating a similar income gap between whites and asians. So why do these factors cause such a big black/white gap but does not create a similar white/asian gap?
Because the argument that these things, as an alternative to racism, fully explain the correlation between race and income is total BS; the problem IS current racism.
I’m not ignoring it at all. It actually supports my argument that lower class income is the cause. The financial class dispersion between Asians and Whites is very similar and so we see similar rates in illegitimacy, incarceration, teen pregnancy, etc.
A higher percentage of Blacks are lower income than Whites or Asians and so we see higher rates of the same. What aren’t you understanding about my argument?
I am at work and don’t have time to dig up cites, but from my experience working as a teacher/tutor for Burmese students in America, and seeing how they often married far earlier than Americans, I’m not sure this is necessarily the “bad” type of teen pregnancy. It was apparently people getting married very young (in their teens), or, even if out of wedlock, teens who were taking good care of the kids.
