Radio Days: The MMP

I always seasonmy fish with salt.

Since I live in the future compared to most of you, I can probably still get away with

Happy BBBobbio Day!

as it’s probably still yesterday for VBob - that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

Nothing exciting going on here today, I have exam papers to deliver somewhere this morning and a handbook to finish compiling. Other than that, I will be trying to look busy until it’s time to go home. How hard can that be?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 for the day. Not too shabby! The weather PTB say to expect rain tomorrow and Sunday. Hopefully we’ll get OYKW’s yahd mowed today cause it needs mowage real bad.

MMMMMM… saltwater fish!

I foresee pizza for dindin just cause I want pizza.

OK, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le sigh.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Saltwater aquariums are not for the casual fish-lover, that’s for sure. We’ve certainly had our own adventure$$ over the 5-ish years we’ve had this one, including the loss of everything in the hurricane-induced power outage. It seems to have bounced back just fine, altho with the 3 largest fish gone, it looks empty. It’ll have to stay that way for a while. My trip is the priority expense for the next couple of months.

Speaking of which, is there a Mumper who would be interested in taking on the task of posting periodic updates for me while I’m gone? I’ll be getting an internet account on the ship, but it’s kinda $$$ - something like $100 for 240 minutes, which ain’t a lot. It comes to about 10 minutes per day, and I plan to use that time to send emails, which I’ll compose in Word before connecting to the network. So if some kind soul would be willing to receive my email and cut-n-paste a few tidbits into the MMP (or maybe I’ll compose something specifically for the MMP) - anyway, PM me the email address you’d like me to use and we’ll be set. Thanks!

I closed up the house, alas. It didn’t cool down at all overnight, and the humidity is rising ahead of a big blob of stormage moving our way. It looks like we’ll be getting showers and storms over the next 3 days, then stoopit summer returns - no more loverly, cool weather, dammit. It’s supposed to stay below 90, so there’s that.

With rain promised today, I’m not sure what I’ll do. I had hoped to work outside some more. We shall see what evolves as the day goes on. Meanwhile, I’m breakfasted and I got the dishwasher repacked and it’s running. My sweetie was a master at fluid dynamics at the wire mill, but he seems to forget that when he packs the dishwasher. Plus when he says it’s full, I can always get more in - there is a method to my madness.

So starteth my day! Happy Firday and Happy First of August!!

Not me. I like mine with teriyaki.

Fish are hard. The sprog once won five goldfish at a fair. We wound up spending about $300 on these goldfish because I felt really guilty about getting rid of them, and I couldn’t do that to the sprog. They lasted a few years, but once they all died off, we didn’t bother to replace them. We still have all the stuff, though.

BTW, today is the sprog’s 12th birthday! He’s only got another year to go before he can join our ranks.

I’ve got my volunteer, so even while I’m gone, you’ll be bored and/or annoyed at my exploits!

Dreary and overcast - it definitely looks like it wants to rain. Today may be full of knitting.

These are TEH YUM!!

Happy Belated Birthday, VBob!

What else have I missed around here?

It’s been kind of crazy lately and I this is the first I’ve posted this week!

Well, carry on and happy Firday all.

Good morning all y’all. Looks like a quiet day to end the week.

I got nuthin’.

[del]Minion[/del] Assistant is out in the field today takin’ applications. Three apps in three counties, all in the west forty. She’ll be one tahrd [del]minion[/del] assistant this evenin’. I have complete confidence, however, that she can handle it all. Other [del]minion[/del] assistant is doin’ the same thing, but in the southwest forty. Hers are all in the same county however. I gotta say, it’s really, really, really nice to have two people on staff who actually know what they’re doin’. Of course da bear is here if they need me. I’m only a phone call, email, or IM away!

Meanwhile, ‘tis payday. YAY! This also means I get to hear any whineage that may ensue if somebody does not get paid. The only reason for that would be not gettin’ time sheets in on time. Sure enough, two whines. Both submitted time sheets after the five p.m. Tuesday deadline. They should have been submitted last Firday, but payroll will accept timesheets up until 5 p.m. Tuesday. They shall get paid in what is called “supplemental payroll” next Firday. That bein’ the pay for timesheets not submitted on time to get paid this week.

My other task of the day is snoopin’ to see if participants are doin’ or have completed some assigned online courses. I will get to say, “great job gettin’ this done!” or, "you must complete this by “x” date or I will have to send a report to the state/national office for noncompliance with trainin’. This results in a not nice letter warnin’ if the person has not completed by another “x” date it will result in bein’ placed on leave without pay until such time as the course(s) is/are completed. Would I do that? Have y’all forgotten I the mean ol’ boss bear?

Rosie of course they are TEH YUM! They are brownies. Duh! :stuck_out_tongue:

Up and caffeinated. working late tonight, but not going in till 5 . It feels like a day off almost.

Happy Birthday sprog!!!

The sprog says thank you.

The birthday celebration will commence in about an hour when we go to Airman’s place of employment so he can wish the sprog a happy birthday. This will be followed by NOL at a place of the sprog’s choosing, a trip to Walmart for things for his trip, and a visit to the local drive-in to watch Guardians of the Galaxy and Bears, which I’m guessing is a nature movie about bears.

I am remiss! I forgot to say happy birthday to The Sprog!

I have a dvd called Bears. It’s a…ummmm… nature video. Yeah, lets go with nature video.

Of course it is.

Who knew **swampy **was such a fan of wildlife?? Or is that wild life??

Speaking of DVDs, the other day, I noticed we have a VCR in our guest room closet. We don’t own any tapes, so I’m thinking this little device needs to be taken to the convenience center for recycling/disposal. Unless someone here wants it - all ya gotta do is pay postage. Such a deal!

It’s started raining a bit, with more on the way. We’ve been to the gym and stopped on the way home for a loaf of bread and some ham. Pretty sure nothing will be happening outside today - I foresee vegging mostly. I suppose I could bake a cake or something. Maybe.

Happy Firday!

It looks dreary out

It’s been a busy morning irk wise.

N.O.L. time. Some peanut butter crackers and a Diet Poopsie cause sometimes ya gotta have 'em.

I am a fan of wildlife. One of my pet names for OYKW is wild thang.

MOOOOOOM I gave an old combo DVD/VCR to some one in my church who has (well had cause the rugrats are older now) twin toddlers. She had some old tapes of kiddie stuff she wanted the kidlets to see. It was a plus bein’ a DVD player as well cause she set it up as their player so they could watch tapes and DVD’s. Matter of fact they still use it as she told me recently. So I kinda saw myself as recyclin’ for a good cause.

The last time we used a VCR at our place was to burn a tape of the Muppet Christmas Special onto DVD. My wife had recorded it off of the air when it was shown back in the '80s (for her daughters), and they still play it every Christmas. So we thought it was time to get it onto a digital medium, because that tape was wearing very thin.

And it looks like we might get a visit from Bertha next week. I wonder if she’s one of the Butt sisters? Jimmy Castor would know.

I have a VCR. I use it as a stand for my Atari 2600.

It’s overcast here, too.
