Radio talk shows

That’s part of what I like about their show. There are few limits. The gag can easily turn back on them, and often does. Unlike some other radio show hosts, they’re not afraid to come across as foolish or stupid or silly on the air. There’s no accounting for taste, but that debate is not for this forum.

I eliminated the problem during my long commute home by checking out audio tapes from the library. Good way to keep up with contemporary literature that you’ll never get around to reading, as well as humor, radio oldies, mysteries, etc. You can trade tapes with other commuters so you can make fewer trips to the library - time is at a premuim with commuters. The unabridged books are quite lengthy (6 or more tapes) but the shortened versions are just about right for driving.

I listened to Tom Leykis for a while but his humor got more sophmoric as time went on. If you want a guy you love to hate, see if Michael Savage (Savage Nation) is in your area. He’s so far to the right that he makes Rush look liberal. Good for some laughs but he also pisses me off.

Pubic radio (NPR) is in most areas. Check their listings - great slant on the news, good interviews, art, music and book reviews.

If you’re anyway near the St. Louis area, tune into the Frank O. Pinion show 2:15-6:30 PM on 550. The show is hilarious! (And i don’t work for the station!)
