Raging Atoms

Although an actual explanation has already been given, I’ve been reading Don’t Panic by Gaiman and I’d like to share the fact that that fluff was one of the extras included in the package when you bought the original Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy computer game. I look forward to some day finding out how fluff pertains in that case.

Aw . . . the OP didn’t mean that literally. By: “Does one person on this board have a brain of their own . . . ?”; he meant: “You deluded fools! Fall down before my Foucault’s Pendulum* in awe at my string of sciency terminologisms arranged into a constellation of dread and doom.”

  • Novel by Umberto Eco in which a computer program (loosely speaking) is used to link individual conspiracy theories into a massive theory of super-conspiracy. I’d say more, but - spoilers. My favorite word from the novel is tetrapyloctomy - the art of splitting a hair four ways.

Has anyone got a link to a reputable site listing the radiation level at Denver? When I google, the first four pages are whacky blogs, most of them listing information from last March.

Nah, Aphosis got killed off a while back.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who had this reaction.

OK, you are giving the OP far more credit than I was.

Star Trek Pleasantville… I like that.

You are not that important to me. You have these twisted little ideas that you are either better or equal. Indeed, if you are better than me, who cares? But you are by no means my equal. I highly doubt you have the strength, and even if you did, I am not like you, nor will I stand in my place beside you.

Nobody said they were better than you.

Let me guess… it was when Hulk Hogan ripped his shirt off that sold you wasn’t it? Lord knows Troy couldn’t sell a lease-to-own plan if his life depended on it.

See what happens when you take the time? I was going to echo the sentiments above about the very nice, helpful non-snark post of Half Man Half Wit but Tarzan quashed it.

I tell ya, some mornings it just not worth chewing through the restraints.
ETA: I still give HMHW bonus points for “idée fixe”.
.

Course they do. I think it’s just that many of them share a perception that your posts have a tendency toward rambling, incoherent nonsense.

Please do not speak for me.

Jared Loughner has Internet access now?

So in the end, it’s all been worth it.

That’s what the alien-controlled fluff does! Don’t you see, it dulls our brains to keep us from experiencing yet another level of heightened consciousness. Once achieved, we’ll raise our reasoning, intelligence and awareness to a level that’ll make our current minds look like that of a chimp. And without that, we’ll never create the New Physics Model, which will allow us to finally see that space, time, mass, energy and gravity are really five facets of a unified theory, which equations will allow us to wield zero-point energy for superluminal travel and weapons that can swallow star systems.

We’re being penned in! Controlled! We’re – oh, Star Trek’s on… brb…

That’s better. There is nonsense rambling I guess before there is a clear definition of the person doing the rambling.

The Fluff…? Doesn’t seem to be any doubt that it exists, the degree on which it exists may vary. And inasmuch as radioactive fallout from Japan, I wish people understood this better to open up other areas of discussion.

Life is… entertainment. It is entertaining to place a notion in people’s head, than see the result later when it comes about. Indeed, the experience is enhanced when others partake, but not entirely necessary.

I see the world running around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, so let’s bring them to a place where we can uniformly watch them in terror and die. Not an evil thought, but what else is there?

This is trolling, which is against the rules here.

I recommend that you refrain from the impulse going forward.

Seriously? What part?

The only rational place to do that is exile to antarctica, but the logistics would be a huge mess.

Are we to let them suffer on their own? Then again, humans are somewhat clever creatures, they’ll eventually build some sort of permanent shelters, out of the limited resources, and their numbers would dwindle fast, which, of course, is convenient.

But first, you must at least bring the horse to the water, and see if they want to drink or not. The fate is ultimately in their hands. I chose well, by – brb… ST’s back on…

Not necessarily. Humans still regard themselves as animals to be lead. In that case they should be lead to a place of choice… Life or death, IMHO.

Also, one can lead a horse to water and by God it will drink!

Like trained horses, humans have blinders on. The path they walk is so narrow, new routes cannot be seen, and death is always inevitable.

When all around them is life. They always choose death.

But why beat a dead hors— brb… ST’s almost done…
