As of yesterday, we have had 1.5" of rain in the past couple of days - more rain than we got all of last year!
Regarding staying dry - my story of the day yesterday:
So, I had a class and put on my nice shirt and tie and it was pouring. Mind you, from the car to the school is only about 40-50 feet, depending upon where I park, but figured an umbrella would be in order. So - we have one hanging in the corner of the garage and I put it in the car.
Get to school, open the car door, put the umbrella out the door, quickly get out of the car, stand and open it.
Suddenly, I was COVERED in dirt and dust!! The stupid umbrella had been hanging upside down in the garage for probably the past 10 years, unused, and over that time, got filled with dust and dirt from the wind as the garage door was opened over the years.
Moral of the story: You know you live in Vegas when your umbrella has 3/4 pounds of dust and dirt on the INSIDE of it.
