raisinbread : get your shriveled, doughy, ass in here!

Well, vertigo, the way I interpreted Neutron’s OP was like this:

It was more of an appreciation thread in which a dissenting comment (especially in raisin’s piss-in-public posting style I’ve been noticing lately) is generally out-of-place at best. It’s like a party – say a wine-tasting – where everybody is tasting and having a good time, enjoying each other’s camraderie, etc. save for one person who swallows and then vomits on the china rug. Such an incident may have been an accident, for sure, but this is where “out-of-place at best” comes in. And, given the general consensus with Raisin (it seems to be split down the middle, actually), she’s been quite a sitting duck for a while.

Just FTR, the raisin is male. And an arse.

…and WHY, again, isn’t raisin banned yet? Honestly, I think if I were to go around the board being as annoying and disrespectful as this person that I would be banned, banned, BANNED.

Yes, everyone is allowed their opinion. But there is so much to be said for delivery (and color).

Wow, not only a moron, gimmick poster, and attention whore, but a sexist as well.

That movie theater comment HAD to be a fucking joke. Please say it was…

That’s just some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.

Okay, in the left corner we have **Aslan2[/]], insisting the raisin is a female. In the right corner, we have Q.E.D., insisting the raisin is a male.

Fight clean now, boys.

Ah, but I provided a cite! :stuck_out_tongue:

Damn coding. :smack:

But only by inference, **Q]/b]! I’m sure there could be other interpretations. Like raisin leaves the empty seat in case the male friend’s homosexual friend shows up.

DAMN coding!

<note to self: USE PREVIEW>

Yeah, well that fight’s over. I was KO’ed. :frowning:
:stuck_out_tongue:

Huh?

What are you on about butrscotch - clearly the seat is being left, because if two guys were sitting together, obviously they’re GAY - doncha know that?

Aslan is saying male. QED is saying male. There will be no fight here. Well, unless Raisinbread, irrespective of sex, decides to show up.

Personally, I really think there should be a rule against being a moron - that would take care of RB in a heartbeat.

I realize that, alice, was just trying to fun with the two guys insisting the opposite. Clearly my sense of humor is lacking tonight…along with my coding ability!

I think the real issue isn’t really Hully Gully, although s/he certainly has made a valient effort to make it about him/herself. I think it’s really about that last line in raisenbread’s post: “I’m glad his career was cut short.” Seeing as Hicks’ career was cut short by a slow and painful death by cancer, that’s an extremely fucked up thing to say. Although to his credit, I doubt raisenbread has enough intelligence to realize the implications of what he said, and probably didn’t mean it that way.

I have spent an evening with raisinbread. I can assure my fellow posters, from firsthand observation, that raisinbread is male.

I’m not sure I understand why people have their shorts in such a knot over the purple posts.

Surely it makes them easier to spot and thus ignore, right?

I didn’t really have much of a problem with Hully Gully. It is pretty annoying when someone shits on a fan thread, but I don’t generally raise a stink about it. I was bugged by the fact that he appeared not to have listened to Hicks, since his post was so similar to the Times article. Even if that assumption had turned out to be correct, I still wouldn’t have even considered pitting him over it, though.

Miller is right. This thread is about raisinbread’s repugnant joy for a comedian’s slow, painful, premature, death, simply because he* found his jokes unhumorous (if he ever even heard them at all - his post gives this impression that he hasn’t).

If I gave off the impression that I thought I was being personally attacked, I apologize, because that was certainly not my intent.

*****Thanks for the gender confirmation, Q.E.D. and Flashpaper Tiger.

Sorry neutron star, I guess I didn’t catch that your issue was with Raisinbread’s insensitive remark about Hicks’ death. I don’t think that he meant that he was glad he was dead or that his death was a particularly painful one. I think he was just commenting on his comedic career.

I think I have just seen too many “fan threads” where there can be no dissent and I don’t feel that is particularly a good way to do it. If people want to use a forum to shout out their personal feelings, then they invite other points of view. I guess after reading both threads it came off as sour grapes when other people didn’t share your enthusiasm of Hicks.

So, my comments are misplaced concerning your intent - as I didn’t see them from the proper point of view. Thanks for the clarification.

As a side note, I too always thought that Raisinbread was a girl. A young girl at that. You know, the kind that actually write everything with purple ink (usually with a troll eraser on the end - how apropos) and dot their “i”'s with a smiley face. Now that I know s/he’s a man, I don’t know what to think.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Raisinbread is so uptight about his heterosexuality when he is posting in purple, the gay pride symbol color?

Man With the Golden Gun: This just gets curiouser and curiouser.
