What’s the deal with these websites that claim they will get rakeback from the poker site you use? Why would the sites be in co-operation with them? Why, if they were going to do it at all, wouldn’t they just lower the rake? Is this only from the rake for cash games or does it include buy-ins for tournaments? And (what I’m most curious about) how do they get their slice of the pie?
It´s a tool for poker sites to get sign-ups they otherwise wouldn´t get. If they lowered the rake along the board they would lose alot of money, not many players think of how much they pay in rake.
Usally the rake is calculated both from cash game and tournament fees but it can differ from site to site.
If player X is signed up for rakeback on a site the rakeback affiliate site sees that the player has raked Y dollar a month. A typcial example is that 25% of Y goes to the player in rakeback and 10% of Y as comission to the rakeback site. The rest goes to the poker site and network.
Not all poker sites uses rakeback, Pokerstars does not.
That sucks! Guess which site I use?
I guess I should consider changing to a site that does. Any suggestions?
You usally can´t get rakeback on sites you already signed up on anyway.
Full Tilt Poker is the second largest poker site in the world and offers 27% rakeback. I use Stackback as rakeback affiliate but they are pretty much all the same.
Full Tilt Poker does. And it also works with PokerTracker. W00t!
Good to know, thanks! Do you know if Full Tilt offers any sign up bonuses? Also, on PS I usually play 4 player tournaments of HU. Do you know if FT offers this? Cheers for your help!
It’s been a while since I signed up, but I think they do for depo’s over $100.
Yeah, they have a pretty decent HU offering (I’m assuming you mean in NLHE). I played in a 40 table HU tourney last week (that’s right, 40 tables, 80 players).
40 tables? How does that work?
40>20>10>5>2.5?
PS has 32 table structures:
32>16>8>4>2
I can’t see how anything other than 32 or 64 would work.
Well, it may have been 32, but I don’t think so. A friend introduced me to 'em, and it was the first one I’d played, so I’m not really sure. I usually play the 2/4 or 5/10 tables, and the occassional SnG.
They do have a up to $600 match bonus but Full Tilt are notorius of deducting alot of stuff from your rakeback so I´m not sure how good the deposit bonus is.
They should have almost all the types of games that Stars offers.
Tables don’t always cut in half. In fact in most tourneys they rarely do.
Forty tables of 10 = 400 players…when ten guys go out they dispatch a table of 10 to go fill their spots at the other tables. Now you have 39 tables of 10 (390 players).
We were talking about heads-up tournaments, so it should be necessary.
