I still get a chuckle over an argument Mrs M. and I were having in which she said “Your pedanticness is really annoying!”. And obviously I had to say “Pedantry”, while knowing it was only going to fan the flames. Really you can’t pass up feed lines like that. 
Oh, my SO pulls the same stuff on me. It mostly gets me even more riled up, tho sometimes we dissolve into laughter. The thing is, though he’s bright too I tend to use a better and more varied vocabulary than him - except for when I’m hopping mad and we’re in a fight, then everything comes out jumbled. I can totally see myself saying pedanticness.
