By that I don’t mean to question the strength of that person’s belief - more the way of how big a part of their presidency their religion is. Going to church every sunday, making the sign of the cross, thanking God for a miracle - these things would be “christian-lite”. It would start to cross that line with hardline anti-abortion beliefs and actions, mentioning God in every other sentence, refusing point-blank to comprimise their belief or the rules of God as they see them as to their presidential activities, working in order to close the gap between Church and State (with that as the primary motivation for doing so) - moves out of “christian-lite” territory. It’s sort of like “I believe in God, and I will live my life in accordance with that belief, but I recognise that not all people believe the same things I do, and their wishes must be taken into account” against “I believe in God, that’s the one true path, I will bring all people to accept my belief”.
