Rape racks & re-routed penises

I had no idea pig breeding involved this! :eek:

“Inside the meat machine” doesn’t refer to a rape rack, does it?

After people read this thread, I suspect the world will gain a number of new vegetarians.

Rape rack? :: shudder ::

Why would someone who would eat the flesh of another creature give a damn what happened to it beforehand?

Because I like my baby back ribs happy.

You can’t be serious. Being a carnivore does not equal being cruel.

Actually I have to wonder about the original article.

I know several pig farmers, two in western NY and one here in CT. Both NY farmers produce something on the order of 2500 pigs a year [not small farmers by any means] and the one here in CT just under 3000 … and they don’t treat their sows like this :frowning: They do inseminate the sows [boars can be aggressive] but each sow has a small [10’x10’] stall with chip bedding in it that they go into when they are a few weeks from delivery, and 3 months after [when ready to start weaning]. Other than then, they are in the paddocks with the rest of the sows and young pigs.

Maybe they treat them like that in some farms, but that level of industrialization/factoryness can be seriously expensive to replace a traditional farm with. Pigs are pretty damn easy to actually maintain and care for compared to thoroughbred horses and some types of cow …

Rape racks, eh?

Does the S/M & D/S community know about this? Could be a huge untapped market. :smiley:

Band names, definitely. They should tour together.

The article in the OP is too slanted to even be referred to. I work with hundreds of hog farms. There is no such thing as ‘raping’ of sows. Either the sow is in heat and wants to be bred, or the sow is not in heat and will refuse to be bred. If a sow is not in heat and is somehow bred, she will not get pregnant. No hog farmer is going to waste semen trying to forcibly breed a sow that is not in heat.

And the part about the boars having their equipment re-routed? Good grief. A substandard boar that is used for heat checking at the most would be vasectimized (sp?) - the same operation done on humans.

Since this is MPIMS and not GQ, I’ll let the rest of their BS go this morning. But, i f an organization wants to convince people not to eat meat, they should just come out and say it. Trying to accomplish their goals through misinformation like this is ridiculous.

Lisa: Don’t you have anything that wasn’t horribly slaughtered?
Homer: I think the veal died of loneliness.

They don’t need to read about pig breeding to know about it. Those who get their inspiration from the Gor series heard about rape racks many years ago, take my word for it. :stuck_out_tongue:
