rapid transit systems

is there a place where you can buy rapid transits(to carry passengers) from?

Bomardier

You’re going to also have to contact a real estate agent or two…

Not if you want your train cars to actually, you know, work.

Kawasaki and Alstom make the good stuff these days.

Not quite sure where this statement is coming from…their new fleets in the UK, from trams to 125mph diesels, have been pretty successful.

Siemens AG also makes mass transit systems.

The R-142 contract for New York City Subway cars (A-division) was split between Bombardier and Kawasaki. The Bombardier cars were plagued with computer, electronics and braking problems from the beginning, and still have an embarrasingly low MDBF compared to the nearly identical Kawasaki models. For this reason Bombardier’s bid was rejected for the R-160 contract which went to Kawasaki and Alstom.

Of course, when the OP asked this question last week, we were unable to determine exactly what they want.

Buses, electric trolley coaches, light rail or heavy rail?

Whatever you do, don’t buy any used Boeing Vertol LRVs. Not even on a dare.

The MDBF numbers were 27% better for Bombardier cars in 2001 (the first year that R-142 and R-142a were in service), dipped lower in 2002, and have been better than Kawasaki’s ever since.
