Rash Limbaugh IS a big fat idiot!

Here: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_051404/content/rush_is_right.guest.html

A few droll snippets…

(Note: Limbaugh is as verbose as he is otiose, not as verbose as he is odious. Droll snippets are excised out of context, with the gleeful intent to present Mr. Limbaugh in as unflattering a light as possible. Sunlight, for instance. Your correspondent from the conservative wing of the extreme left makes no apologies, and includes this caveat for the sake of complete disclosure only. )
Regarding the photos from Abu Gharib…

"…would love to be able to claim the line that George Neumayr used, I can’t claim it because George Neumayr used it first in the American Spectator.

Neumayr said, “If these prison photos had been taken by Robert Mapplethorpe, the very senators condemning them would have funded the exhibit at the National Endowment for the Arts…”

Oh, it gets better…

“…And while all of this is taking place, the very people, the very people who have defended the sexual revolution and have championed the so-called sexual revolution, who defended any kind of sexual perversion in the Oval Office when it was going on there when Bill Clinton was – those same people are now the ones who are raising holy hell themselves about how sick this is and how disgusting this is and how perverted this is. And that is why I’ve said when the rooster comes home and when the whole truth comes out about this comes out on what was going on over there, the people on the left who condemned all of this, shall we say, enlightened, as they’ve called it, perverted sexual activity they’re going to have to explain to many of their constituents why they’ve changed their mind on these particular kinds of acts and these particular types of lifestyles…”

The punch line…

“…Who popularized oral sex for the nation?.. Bill Clinton. And who defended him? The Democrats who now find all kinds of atrocities in these photos coming out of Abu Ghraib prison…”

How long, we must ask ourselves, how long can the Republic endure without a constitutional amendment banning oral sex! How long can we tolerate the flower of American womenhood subjected to degrading tongue-lashings! And do the “femi-Nazis” object? Do they rally in thier thousands to demand that women be freed from gyno-lingual abuse? They do not! They persist in spreading the gross canard that entirely normal women actually find such abominable practices enjoyable!

(I see that this line of discourse brings a blush to the pristine cheek of our own galDopers, who’s delicacy and purity is the stuff of legend. In the interest of preserving thier innocent sensibilities, I shall refrain from further remonstration…)

There you have it! The “chain of command”, the unbreakable linkage of cause and effect leads straight to Bill Clinton’s zipper, and his shameless enthusiasm for the Practice Abominable! And the French, of course. Explains everything, doesn’t it?

Remember, whe oral sex is outlawed, only outlaws…well, you know the rest.

Is he actually comparing rape of foreigners to consensual sex? Is he high? Oh, wait…

Oh, look, a Republican mouthpiece defending nonconsensual torture as just another sexual practice similar to oral sex. I feel so ashamed of that thread I started about the lengths this adminstration would force the Republicans to …

Exactly, because your thread took great pains to distinguish between idiots like Limbaugh and other folks who are thoughtful, decent, honest, and happen to be Republicans.

I figure if I keep hammering away at this point, it may eventually get through to you.

Daniel

I don’t know why I’m even wasting time on this idiot (Rush, not elucidator), but this has reached a point where the stupidity is making me sick. He’s actually saying that what people find disgusting about the photos are their artistic merits? That they’re sexually explicit? He’s honestly suggesting there’s no difference between a photographer hiring a professional model and a guard keeping mementoes of prisoner torture?

Y’know, I’ve said in the past that as much as I disagree with Rush, I don’t actually wish any evil on him. I’m starting to feel really stupidly naive about that. This man is a sick, evil piece of shit.

The “It’s Clinton’s fault” drum beat is getting rather dull. Every time I turn on the radio, they’re playing it again. It’s worse than the Macarana. At least the Macarana stopped after a while. This beat’s been going on for almost 12 years now.

And of course, before Clinton, no one had even heard of oral sex. Well, at least Limbaugh hadn’t.

Rush isn’t ‘forced’. His relationship is entirely, strictly, and eagerly consensual.
What you whiny liberals are missing here is a sense of humor.
Put on your Straussian lenses in your glasses and take another lookn at Rush’s show. Examine his comments in context as if they were from Rumsfeld. I cross my heart that Rush makes fun of people who take what he says at face value. Rush’s humor is amazingly dry and wry. Rush is incredibly ‘self-aware’ of his impact on the various public media and public discourse. He makes lots and lots of jokes all day long. Friday he told a caller who wanted to start using ‘tactical nukes’ in Iraq to save the lives of the next generation who otherwise’d have to fight this ‘bloody terror’, that she ‘had a point’. He didn’t actually offer any evaluation of her point.
The guest host on Rush’s show today, Mark Billing, said that there’s only moderate dissent for in Iraq. Says that there’s more dissension within the Bush Admin than there is in Iraq. If Mr. Billing were to fault Bush ‘at all’ he’d fault him for not controlling his Admin.

Hmm. . . I thought Monica Lewinsky popularized oral sex for the nation.

“Oral sex for the nation” now there’s a political position we can all get behind, or in front of.

What’s Rush gonna say next, “The recent bombing, or alleged bombing of the Iraqi wedding party is no different than your average action-adventure movie.”

Really though, what is worse? Limbaugh spitting his oxy-flecked, meaningless little Clinton-hate speeches into a microphone somewhere, or his millions of listeners who hear that alternate reality, find it preferable to their own and say “Damn straight! Armagedd - I mean, megadittos, Rush!”

I can only imagine if James Burke of Connections fame shared Limbaugh’s monomania:

“And what was the source of this ravenous disease, this Black Plague? Our story begins across the Atlantic, in a small village not yet founded, a place called, ironically enough, ‘Hope’” …

Wait a second… So he’s arguing that the conservatives, who fought the good fight against concentual (though cheating) sexual acts in the White House, should, for no other reason than party allegiance, look past the far worse “Brittney Spears” style torture/sexual humiliation/murders?

YOU FUCKING PILLHEAD, YOU’RE THE CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF AMERICA?!! HOW IN THE FUCKING HELL ARE YOU NUMBNUTS STILL ON THE AIR?!
DUMBASS!!!

It’s as if Linda Lovelace had never existed.

Democrats! Hmmph. There they go again. Always taking credit for stuff. Al Gore created the Internet. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Bill Clinton introduced the nation to oral sex. Blah, blah, blah.

Those who will not remember their history are doomed to repeat it.

As much fun as it might be to beat up on this unapologetic windbag, there are precious few people on these boards who take him seriously or think his schtik is even remotely amusing. There are a few obvious exceptions to that statement but they will not be named here. The shame is that as an insult comic the guy does have a following, and he has a substantial following as a political commenter and analysis. Just go to any cross roads café and you will overhear his disciples reciting the man’s supposed witticisms as if they are the finest bon motes that ever came down the pike. I suppose there are people who think George Carlin and Michael Moore’s acts are on a par with Hobbs and Locke, too. The basic problem is that there are way too many ill-informed idiots out there, reinforced by whole battalions of malicious weasels.

The place to fight Rush and his cadre of flacks is not here. It is in the streets and coffee shops and taverns of this country.

Yes, he actually compares consensual sex with forced sexual torture. Remind me not to attend any of Rush’s parties.

I thought this thread was going to be just another example of anachronistic verbosity from elucidator, but it turns out to have been worthwhile, if only for the following line from Rush:

Yep, looks like time for another Intervention.

You know what disappoints me. I have known smart people who actually

(a) like Rush
(b) think he is objective

IIRC, Scylla used to have favorable opinions about Rush.

Yet, I have listened to him on and off and all I hear is hatred and meaningless drivel. The stuff he says is full of logical fallacies. Over the past few days, he has compared the torture photos to college hazing, made illogical comparisons to the Berg murder and stuff like this is par for the course.

I think it is dangerous to dismiss Rush as an entertainer. He is a demagogue and a lot of people take him seriously and that is, IMHO, disappointing…

No, he’s saying conservatives should overlook them because the Abu Gharib abuses are no more than “fraternity pranks,” and that they should be ignored for the greater good of winning the war on terror.

(Granted, he didn’t say that in the actual broadcast, but this is combined with statements he made earlier that were also Pitted.)

Well, you can pick one of the two:

  1. Fight a war using methods needed to win.

or

  1. Fight a war according to the various ‘rules’ out there.
The two are incompatible. The last war that we unequivocally won, WW2, was fought to win, with little thought towards various rules. If a glowstick up the ass can help fight the insurgents, then so be it.

So then, it’s okay for the other side then to torture our guys, if that’s what it takes, eh Brutus?

All’s fair in love and war?
