It seems to have been semi-reincarnated as College Misery.
You can post at CM. I really miss RYS a lot already, though.
I blame the snowflakes.
College Misery looks like it will be a hoot.
Started posting there, and RYS will persist as a static archive.
I myself was shocked and saddened at the demise of Rate Your Students. It was a hoot to read, and I had a few submissions posted there. I went to the site before the announcement of College Misery, so I spent a few low hours wondering where to take my pain and angst.
Then the College Misery site went live, and my world was once again filled with kittens and rainbows
Can current students get in on this. I’m continually amazed at the brazen behavior of my classmates. This last semester, three of my classes tried to have their final exam times changed, one because it was at 8 in the morning and lord forbid we get up before 9, one because it was at 6 at night and who wants to be taking a final at that time (One classmate actually said, I have tickets for a show that night. well that was stupid of you.) and one because the assigned time was bad juju or something. Listen you slackasses, half of the professors at this college don’t even have finals anymore and anyway the times of the finals are in the course catalog for that semester. Am I the only person who when the term starts writes down all the final exam times in his planner and then you know, plans around them?
Anyway, yay College Misery, sad RYS.
Oh god, the begging to get exams rescheduled is a pet peeve of mine. Once, during my undergrad, we had a midterm scheduled for the day after Halloween. A couple of girls in the class asked for it to be moved because “on Halloween we go out to the clubs - we’ll be hung over the next day!” Yes, they said that to the prof, in front of the whole class. No, the exam was not moved.
I have some teaching duties now, but I thank god I’m not responsible for scheduling. I have already had some annoying students, I should go read that new board.
