Rate Yourself on the Kinsey Scale!

This thread got me thinking: how would dopers rate themselves on the Kinsey Scale?

0 - Exclusively heterosexual
1 - Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual
2 - Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3 - Equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 - Predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5 - Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual
6 - Exclusively homosexual

I rate myself a 1 (I know I said 2 in the aforementioned thread but I misread the damn scale).

A gay friend of mine, after declaring himself a 6 on the Kinsey scale, turned to me and said, “I think you’re a 0.” (I hope he was actually talking about the Kinsey scale, and not his personal opinion on me.) So I guess it’s official then. 0.

What is “incidentally” homosexual? I’m a little confused by that. I guess I would say either 0 or 1, depending what that means.

Here’s how I would interpret the scale:

0 - absolutely no homosexual thoughts/fantasies
1 - occasional homosexual thoughts/fantasies
2 - frequent homosexual thoughts/fantasies, heterosexual preference
3 - equal preference for both sexes
4 - frequent heterosexual thoughts/fantasies, homosexual preference
5 - occasional heterosexual thoughts/fantasies
6 - absolutely no heterosexual thoughts/fantasies

In other words, this scale has more to do with feelings than with actual experience. For instance, a closeted gay man could rank a six even though he’s never had sex with another man.

I think I’m actually a 2 1/2–I didn’t know we could choose halfs–I spent some time considering whether I was a complete 2 or a complete 3. I chose 2 simply because I am currently married (heterosexually) and that was the deciding factor.
