After not being hit by this in over a month, it’s happened to me three times today.
Whatever is going on with the instability on the board seems to be making the read/unread timer issue worse for me.

It’s been happening more frequently for me the last couple days. It makes me tired.

Hmmm… Interesting variation on the theme. Earlier this morning I definitely had the read/unread timer reset AGAIN (it happens so often that I can’t be bothered reporting it any more). However, I got back on a few minutes ago and the timer is back to Yesterday at 7:29PM, which is probably correct (I don’t keep a diary of when I am on, but the time is sensible).
First time I’ve had the timer screw up and then unscrew up!

Out of curiosity, did you ever try this? (following the old conversation, it seems like you’re referring to trying the “Database (no automatic forum marking)” setting instead of the default cookie-based setting. It seems like a lot of people are having trouble with the read/unread tracking – I certainly have been for some time now, although I haven’t seen fit to complain about it – and I’m not sure what “needs” would be outweighed by switching it. My understanding is that the database-based tracking is more accurate all around.
I hope I’m not jinxing myself by saying this, but it’s not happened to me since the Board went down this past weekend.
Happened to me now a few minutes ago and almost a half hour ago at 6:20 AM EST.

The problem gets worse and worse. The powers that be don’t seem to give a damn. I’m starting to regret renewing my membership.
