Real Housewives of DC - don't lie, I know you're watching it.

Ahhh, trainwrecks.

Kat: I get the feeling Stacie was insulted by my behavior, which was never my intention at all!
Me: Then maybe you shouldn’t have acted like such a bitch at her party. Jesus!

Not at all surprised that this Michaele chick is the one who crashed the White House.

Indeed. Sniffing the wine at Stacie’s aunt’s house with that “I smell shit” look on her face. Picking at her food like it was inedible. Leaving before the dessert was served. Not saying goodbye to Stacie, the hostess. Never her intention? She regales all who will listen that she’s a classy London “lady” while being very, very rude.

Kat and her husband are divorcing. I’m wondering if the divorce will be played out on camera. Great for ratings, I suppose.

Don’t have cable, so I’m not watching it…but what, pray tell, WAS her intention, then? Or did she cheerily gloss over that?

kittenblue: Kat makes these really offensive, snotty comments while grinning in wide-eyed innocence and says she can’t ima-a-a-gine why anyone would be offended. She’s a pip.

I find Michaele hard to take. Her smoker’s voice and wasted physique are just a little creepy.

Oh but everybody thinks she’s 30! Weren’t you shocked to learn that Michaele is 44?

I don’t know if it was the DC or Jersey ho-wives, but last night I watched a bit of one where the women were taking polo lessons at a winery. One of them had a posh accent and a smoky voice, and made fun of the wine they were served. It was frothy, and she said it was beer. Another one made fun of one of someone because of what she was wearing, but it looked to me like they were all dressed pretty much the same.

I’m looking forward in a dreading sort of way to the new Atlanta season. It’s the only one I’ve watched consistently.

That was DC. The posh accent woman was bitchy Kat.

No one thinks Michaele is 30. Oh, delusions. Also, she showed up late to a party she was hosting? WTF? How rude.

The stylist, Paul, is clearly going to be the next breakout reality TV star, isn’t he? He’ll debut his own show when Rachel Zoe shrinks away to nothing.

I don’t know, but I definitely want to hang out with him. He seems both fun and really sweet.

And saying the wine was clearly “old” and demanding another drink.

That said, Michaele and her husband give me major major major heebie jeebies.

Personally, I dislike this Housewives show. I like Jersey best, Atlanta, then New York, then I’m not a big fan of OC.

I like this one because they talk about politics a lot.

I’ve only seen a few of the New Jersey episodes. Can you explain why everyone hates Danielle and vice versa? I even looked at the wikipedia entry on the show a few days ago, hoping for a summary, but it was kind of vague.

I agree, but I think he also likes to stir up some drama among the women.

I didn’t watch the first season, but from what I’ve seen since, they don’t like Danielle because she got in good with them, like she was their *equal *or something (!), and then Caroline Manzo found out that Danielle has a shady past- in fact, she was a coke mule, possibly a prostitute, and a felon. So, obviously, she’s not good enough for them, and now she must pay for even entertaining the possibility.

As for DC- holy shit, the snobbishness, the racism, the bitchiness- these women are nuts! It really is like a trainwreck. Kat and her husband are divorcing? Isn’t she the one who was talking about how their romance was a fairy tale and the whole administration was following their courtship and everything was so great?

Na, that’s not accurate. I’m saying this as someone who has seen every episode of that show a few times now, since Bravo likes to run marathons and I leave my TV on Bravo if nothing else is on.

So, just about everyone on the show is a Manzo family member (by marriage, but still), except Theresa (Ms Bankruptcy) and Danielle. They were all friends. Danielle was always a little off kilter, trying to cause drama amongst the ranks, conniving and starting gossip between people, being generally two faced, etc. She’s that girl. We all know that girl. Every group at least temporarily has that girl.

One by one, the Manzo family got annoyed with her shenanigans. I think the first was Caroline, then Dina (who isn’t on the show anymore), but Jacqueline tried to remain neutral, even though her family and Danielle were pulling her in different directions. Before long, Danielle got caught in a few lies, spreading rumors about Jac and her family, etc. So, Jac cut her off. At that point, Danielle became utterly obsessed with the whole Manzo clan (+ Theresa), on tape with her kids in the car, lurking outside of events the Manzos are at-- weird shit like that. Like I said, she’s that girl.

Anywho, so at the end of last season, the Manzos found out that Danielle had lied about her past and that she had, in fact, been involved in hardcore illegal activity. I don’t remember the specifics completely, but this was a case involving the FBI. Danielle and her drug dealer bf were involved in a coke deal gone bad or something-- lots and lots of money involved. They kidnapped someone’s (adult) son and pistol whipped him. Danielle called the dad and made threats that if they didn’t get what they wanted, she’d murder his son, etc. She got off pretty easily because she snitched out her boyfriend. The legal documents also identify that she was a hooker, among other things.

Needless to say, though, the Manzos were a bit miffed by this revelation because that isn’t a simple criminal background (stealing clothes or something), but serious, violent crime. Danielle felt it was inappropriate for the Manzos to bring up her past, let alone talk about it. Thus the conflict.

This season, it’s just all been Danielle being crazy and Jacqueline’s daughter being a psycho.

Holy shit…how much of this was actually on the show? I mean, presumably she didn’t pistol whip someone on camera.

It happened back in the mid 80s. On the show, the Manzos discovered a book written by Danielle’s ex, A Cop Without a Badge. In it, he goes into Danielle’s exploits. With that, the Manzos looked up court documents, the media leaked information, etc.

The reason no one had previously found out that stuff is that Danielle has changed her name like 5 times or something.

Man, I watched the Jersey one over the past few weeks, and I was all “OMG this is television!” Danielle is such a psycho hosebeast…and Teresa is such a hoot. I even like Caroline and her kids.

Then, I watched the second season of the Orange County one (I’d already seen half of the first season) and was SO BORED. Maybe it was the lack of accents. Or that the drama seemed so fake … was there even drama?

I can’t wait to catch some of the DC version. It seems like as much of a trainwreck as Jersey!

Danielle’s daughter, btw, is absolutely gorgeous. I hope she doesn’t turn into a coke whore because of her insane mother. I hope she becomes America’s new sweetheart supermodel.

Well, I had been wondering what exactly Danielle does for income, and now I’m beginning to see how it works.

Danielle is not going to be on the next season of RHNJ…aw…will we ever know if she finds her birthmother??
