Anybody watch this one? Pretty good stuff, with House trying to screw around at home some more in an effort to make Wilson blame his ex-wife/current squeeze.
Also a heartbreaking twist in Taub’s relationship with his wife, exacerbated by the main story about a husband and wife with an open marriage.
I got a bit distracted by all of the above and missed the cause of the woman’s medical problems. Help?
Hey, next week looks good: a lactating man… and the docs sing karaoke!
a bee sting; House realized it when he saw the flowers her husband brought from their garden
I thought it was a pretty decent episode. Not the funniest one ever, but thought provoking. Especially the way the main medical story was echoed in the two other stories: Taub and his wife, and Wilson and his ex, and how you never know if bringing something up is a complaint, or an exercise in strengthening your relationship. I think we can all relate; I know I can!
Not thrilled with this episode. Found lots of other things to distract me while watching it. DId anyone else notice the picture of Stephen Colbert on House’s desk?
Hard to miss with the Sherlock Holmes-ian magnifying glass placed right in front of it
Taub signed a non-compete agreement with his partners in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement about the affair he had. IANAL, but just because Taub disclosed the affair to his wife doesn’t mean he can renege on the non-compete agreement and go back to plastic surgery.
She asked him if he wanted to “go someplace” with her; IOW, her place or a cheap motel. He thought about it for a second and then got into the passenger seat of her car. He’s going to cheat after all.
I missed what the patient’s husband did with the money. Was he a gambler? Did he lose his job and need it to keep up appearances without telling his wife he was unemployed? What was the trip to Nebraska about? There were some things it was hard for me to hear last night. Or did they just never say?
I thought it was harsh the way they treated the boyfriend when he came in with the flowers. Unless he was breaking some agreement they’d set up in advance, what did he do wrong to pay a call on her in the hospital? Because the kids were there? All they had to say is “This is a friend; he can’t stay. Thanks for the flowers.” But they ordered him out like he was a child molester. He didn’t deserve that.
I don’t think it had anything to do with the kids, but that he’s not a “boyfriend” - he’s just sex. By inserting himself in that moment, he was trying to be more than that - build a relationship. Which wasn’t part of the deal.
Wait, it wasn’t his wife Dr. Potatohead got into the car with at the end of the show??
Next week our three swingin’ bachelors go to a kareoke bar - can’t wait for that one! I like the eps set outside the hospital - bachelor party, speed-dating, conference/the 80’s costume party. Next, I think they should take a road trip to Vegas…take 13 to make it a foursome.
I have to confess that there’s something I just don’t like about Wilson’s former wife/current squeeze, but I can’t really put my finger on it.
I thought it was funny that during the discussion about Wilson’s fastidiousness that he didn’t tell her not to sit sideways on the armchair, lest she break the arm, even after telling her to use a coaster.
I guess your question has been answered, but I’ll still add that I always set my DVR to add two minutes. But mostly because I love hearing the tag line, “That’s some bad hat, Harry!”
I was waiting for that too. I was also trying to see if she had shoes on, so he could scold her for putting her shoes on the furniture. IIRC, the furniture is rented, so that may be a factor there.
They are definitely going for a Felix/Oscar thing, although House isn’t really a slob, they seem to be making Wilson more and more fastidious just for the contrast. House doesn’t care if his books aren’t piled neatly, but he does keep things pretty clean. Wilson is getting pretty OCD.
