Oh! That lying sack of shit! I was growing weary of his wife’s whiny insecurity, but I guess she has good reason to not trust him.

Yeah, he is. He couldn’t go through with the affair while his wife knew it was a possibility, but he has no problem operating under the rationalization that what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her.
I’m looking forward to next week’s episode. It was pretty funny watching House and Foreman going “Whoo! Whoo!” to “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Wilson should be there, but Sam would probably insist on tagging along with him.
Well, it’s no fun cheating on your wife if she’s okay with it. Duh!
I didn’t get that at all. Taub was always going to cheat on his wife, and he was totally going to do it when she knew about it – he just put it off when she finally admitted that she wasn’t ok with it. He might be trying to convince himself that he doesn’t want to cheat on her, but I saw that ending coming a mile away. And his wife is a complete idiot for believing that the man who wanted to sleep with someone else 10 minutes ago was suddenly going to not want to sleep with someone else just because she changed her mind about whether he was allowed to.
That actress was on Lost for about 5 episodes and she was ‘off’ on there as well.
I always think her face looks like she got a bunch of really bad plastic surgery. I’ll feel bad if she was in some sort of accident and needed to have her face reconstructed, but she always looks sort of weird to me.
She’s Cynthia Watros. She was in the final two seasons of the Drew Carey Show as Kellie Newmark, who Drew (the character) eventually married. She replaced Christa Miller, who played Kate O’Brien for the first 7 seasons.
She looks like she had bad plastic surgery? I never really noticed that. Still don’t actually. She might look a little weird but it’s not that bad.
I think she’s quite cute, actually. Kind of quirky-looking, but cute.
I’m sure Taub would do her.
I think it’s more because when his wife was going to allow it, he’d have to admit to her that she wasn’t fulfilling some need he had. He could play the good but tortured husband. Now that she’s not allowing it, he just doesn’t admit it to her, or outright lie and say he hasn’t cheated.
But yeah, I don’t like the Taub character either. I think his wife needs to kill him off. If they draw out some long arc about his wife finding out, it’s gonna be like watching someone having their fingernails removed.
safe bet, that.
I think if there were ever going to cast Maris Crane, she would be the actress for the role.
If she thinned down some more.
My mind kept on trying to make her into Elizabeth Banks, who she is not. So for me too she seems off; however, if you just look at her, I thought she looked quite cute and normal. I think it might be the hair that makes her look Banksy to me.
he’s also said that he loves plastic surgery, and that the fellowship is beneath him.
plus, non-compete would keep him from going to another firm. why not move? better hours, higher pay, and he wouldn’t have to live in jersey. plus, the job that House has doesn’t exist anywhere else, so how has he always wanted to do it? i guess the NIH and CDC has things like that, but it’s not a full-time position. more of a board thing.
I think the non-compete thing is pretty much forgotten at this point. Taub did, in fact, work as a Plastic surgeon earlier this season when he left for a few episodes while Foreman was in charge.
I too had missed the last minute or so of the episode (I saw him walk up to and help the nurse, but then my DVR cut out), so I didn’t know what had happened. I’d sort of hoped that maybe he wasn’t full of it with all the “Rachel is worth it” stuff, but it sounds like he hasn’t really learned much. I don’t mind him not being likable (hell, House sure isn’t a likable guy), but he doesn’t really seem like he’s going anywhere as a character, which makes him kind of boring.
And to those talking about Sam looking weird, I don’t really think so. I was finding it odd at times because some of her vocal inflections reminded me a lot of Michelle Pfeiffer, which was a bit distracting, but otherwise she doesn’t seem off to me.
Well, I think Taub looks weird. You know The Schultz and Dooley beer steins? Taub = Dooley.
Does anyone think the writers are entertaining the idea of a Chase/13 hookup? I hope to god NOT, but that’s what I’m picking up on. What a horrible idea.
I have to respectfully disagree. I think the Taub character is a brilliant creation. It’s like they wrote the most womanizing character possible, then went out and cast the most NON-sexual looking actor they could find. And he NEVER plays the character like he’s a “playa” in the least. Just milquetoast and matter of fact, and women seem to fall into his arms. I think it’s a wonderful example of cliche-busting and I love it…TRM
EVERYONE is thinking it at the TWOP boards. And hating it.
Some of the interpersonal story arcs are amusing, but I miss the medical drama. It’s turning more and more into a soap opera. Very few shows remain true to their original concept. Perhaps it’s because I’m male, but too many shows eventually turn into “office romance” sagas. The entire series begins to revolve around the question of “will they or won’t they”? I enjoyed the show that used to follow ‘House’, ‘Lie To Me’ with Tim Roth. That seems destined to turn into another romantically driven show with the mystery as an adjunct.
Chase / 13 hookup? They’d make it a one-night stand in order to initiate a story line to about between Chase and Forman. The role of Forman is a thankless one, he’s only there to play straight man and look indignant. A battle between Forman and Chase would allow the writers to dump Chase and Cameron once and for all, having banished them to the other side of the kingdom for several seasons.
A hookup and subsequent jealousy gives reason for writing 13 (Olivia Wilde) out as well. The “true fans” don’t like her. And Taub’s infidelity could cause his wife to kill him off which makes for a good season finale.
I liked Cynthia Watrous on Titus not so much on this show…
I consider myself a “true” House fan and I like Thirteen.
