I am way too old for this stuff but caught myself watching a few minutes. Some very attractive young woman - Mel? - is squaring off with a guy from Boston about their relationship. It seems they are both into each other, but his mom just died or something and he is trying to “experience” the Real World phenomenon as a single guy.
For immature 20-somethings, they both seemed reasonably articulate, just incredibly over-dramatic. And did I mention that she was really beautiful?
So what happens? I invested a good 15 minutes of my life into this - do things work out? And was this relationship the central topic of this round of Real Life - seems like it would be…
I hate admitting that I watch that crap, but: no resolution yet. You basically nailed it. The guy (Danny) and the girl (Melinda) got together real quick as only happens on reality TV and opera. Danny’s mother died about 5 episodes in and he went to Boston for the funeral for 3 episodes. Danny is worried about being tethered down and missing out on life, but he still loves her. There are other storylines, but that’s the main one.
Yeah, Melinda is teh hot. Especially that habit she has of wandering around in bikini cut underwear.
I’ve not seen this, although I have on occasion watched some RW stuff. But I just wanted to point out that I incorrectly read your OP title initially as: “Real World Austism” and thought, “Boy, have those MTV producers sunk to a new low?”
Ah - thank you. Again, 15 minutes isn’t much, but in addition to being gorgeous, she seemed reasonably balanced as far as a kid on a reality-tv show could be - just overly-dramatic. Thanks for the update.
And Shibb - you oughtta be in the business - I bet that idea would be picked up quick by some network…they have no scruples anyway, right?
