Reality TV

Blokes are always Pikers

 Night-night, Case Sensitive. May the moreporks not disturb your repose.

Or Little Case either

Good morning, my little hobbits.

another kiwi checking in…

Greetings, Trillionaire. 'Afternoon, Case Sensitive. Heh! I’ve a feeling this thread’s well and truly hijacked by now …what was it that calm kiwi wanted to discuss?

Gidday, Trillionaire: don’t think we’ve met, have we? Of course the burning question is: how tall are you?

I’m something like 5’4. Maybe. I don’t actually know how big a foot is, but I’m taller than my mum, who’s 5’2.

And secretly, I love reality TV. By ‘love’ I mean ‘love to shout abuse at the screen’. And it’s not so secret, because, y’know, I’m yelling. I don’t watch a lot of TV anymore, but I do like Brat Camp. I used to watch Class Reunion, but it was just too damn bad.

So you’re not alone calm kiwi!

Now I feel old. Tall, but old. Pre-metric old. A foot’s 30cm, near enough. And kindly get back off-topic, manx: this is now officially the longest all-Kiwi thread.

I’m that much of an old fart, I couldn’t tell you what my height is in centimetres if I tried (probably could with one of those measurement conversion websites and a spot of luck, but …)

Come on – isn’t there a Kiwi in the house taller than Case Sensitive? Do we give you a chocolate fish if you win, or what?

No, I just get the right to call you “my little hobbits”.

Dear Calm Kiwi
Do not fear, you are not alone. I too have been known to be a regular fan of such reality fare as “American Idol” (and yes, I have voted) and Nanny 911 (US copycat of UK “Supernanny,” though we have that too here now). I strongly suspect I will be a viewer of the upcoming “Hell’s Kitchen” in which meanie genius chef Gordon Ramsey calls amateur cooks lots of funny names.

When it was on, I also enjoyed “The Biggest Loser” – a weight loss contest.

And there goes the all kiwi thread. Thank god. I’ve been fighting the urge to post here since this morning. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, it depends Kiwi. How many Fox reality tv shows do you watch? The Simple Life? I married a midget?

Someone once suggested they should create a Reality TV Channel, put all that crap on it and be done with it.

The good news for people like me who hate that stuff, the reality tv fad is dying down. Networks are realizing the cash cow was good for a few seasons, but now that viewership is down, they are stuck without any real programming to put in all those empty time slots.

But hey, if you liike it, more power to ya. I am sure a lot of people hate sports, and a lot hate sitcoms, and a lot don’t like the 40 variations of Law and Order. That is the joy of having a remote control for the television!

Cool. If dies it dies. If it is replaced by something like ‘Lost’, then I will be a happy camper. If it is replaced by CSI-WHERE EVER, then I will sob.
A thought just struck me, maybe I like “reality tv” because it isn’t my reality. Not my accent, my country, my neighbours. Maybe I like “reality” because it is still fiction…to me.

I like saying “Ohhhhhh! Look at the wacky Yanks” or “Oh dear, those Poms are nuts” or “Bloody hell, those Aussies are dicks”

There has been bugger all NZ “reality” (NZ Idol, Treasure Island, hmmmm that is about that) maybe reality is more fun when you know it isn’t your neighbour.

Moving this thread from IMHO to Cafe Society.

We probably haven’t met, I’m a lurker from way back… but an any rate I’m a touch over six foot so I guess I have the record for now.

I’m sure I’ll see you guys in MPSIMS before long anyway.

Moving that thread was awfully kind Czarcasm. It turned out to be a (fun at the time) late night Kiwi jabber session.

Delete away

Aw, crap. It was fun while it lasted.

Yeah it was.

You tallish Kiwi bastard
