Damn, I heard him on the radio yesterday on the way to practice. I should have known there was an ulterior reason for him to be played. Loved your playing, Lonnie. I’ll have to eat an Oreo or two tomorrow in your honor. RIP.

Back when I started playing guitar, SRV was at his peak. He was also one of my favorites. One of the guitar magazines mentioned Lonnie Mack as an influence on SRV so I bought a cassette of his and damn near wore that thing out. Can’t recall the name of the album at the moment but I may dig that tape out tomorrow and give it a listen. If any of my cassette machines still work.
