Duh, obviously fake boobs dont produce milk.
um… The top is sheer, but the flesh-colored bra underneath isn’t. She could be hiding anything in there.
You can see the hem lines. Sorry.
Er… a few months? You realize it’s June, 2014, right? North turns one today. That’s a year. Millions of moms only nurse for 4-6 months, as they work and have other shit to do.
And tell me I misread the post that makes it sound like someone thinks women lactate from puberty to menopause. Please tell me it was just worded in a way I mistook it. Sure, there’s pardoning ignorance for a pre-teen boy, but men, who have been married to women for how many years and had kids with them and, seriously?
I encountered a lactation consultant online who had adopted two children and said she induced lactation in herself so she could breastfeed them both.
The gist of the question has been answered, but this was a weird one, even for the Dope. Honestly, a father of two who isn’t aware that lactation doesn’t involve some sort of faucet that operates for two years, like it or not? And who can’t see that, even if Kim K is nursing her kid, she’s wearing a bra, which could easily contain absorbent pads?
Happy Father’s Day, y’all. Boobies! :dubious:
As a general rule, no. Lactation is a complex physical process that involves a ton of hormonal changes that are basically started when you deliver a child and develop in a sort of feedback loop when you nurse the baby over the first few days.
There are accounts of people kick-starting the process in other ways, but no, a woman just walking around can’t produce breastmilk on demand.
As mentioned, a lot of women simply cannot breast feed their children, no matter how dearly they would like to. There are also infants who cannot drink breast milk due to certain allergies. That’s why you don’t go around criticizing people who are not breast feeding.
I breastfed for 16 months or so for each kid - the leaking really was only the first 6-8 months or so while (and mainly the first 4) while supply got regulated. Only had one leaking accident after that at 11 months when I was in a very cold cafe (was still feeding/pumping 3x a day). But I certainly wasn’t wearing pads at that point, so don’t think it’s any indication that Kim is or isn’t nursing still.
I said in the OP my wife breast fed each of our kids for almost 2 years. Lactation stops shortly afterward. Women only lactate after giving birth and while breast feeding.
There are also certain medications that can be transferred in mother’s milk so if the mother must be on them for a medical reason she is advised not to breastfeed. That’s yet another reason why a woman using formula rather than breast should not be criticized.
This.
Flaunt it while you got it, KK.
Not me. Breastfed for six months without a drop of leakage. I never let down near a crying baby, not even my own, or dripped, or squirted inappropriately. Not before, not after, and any dribbles during could be cleaned up with a towel. I also dried up within days of stopping.
No worries, ace, the second part of my post wasn’t referring to anything you wrote.
Fully agreed although I don’t like this “making excuses” thing. If a woman can’t or does not wish to breastfeed, that is none of anyone else’s business and, to my mind, that’s the only response that is required if any uninvolved person is crass enough to raise the issue.
Hey, I fully support a woman’s right to NOT breastfeed just because she doesn’t want to, provided adequate nutrition is otherwise provided (i.e. formula). But some people are freakin’ militant about these things and don’t know when to stop being busy-bodies.
Oh, that’s nice for you. Some of the worst memories of my life are of the times I was trying to breast feed my daughter.
Yep, sorry if I came across as arguing with you - I think we agree.
Roughly, what I was trying to say is simply that no woman should feel the need to offer an excuse for not breastfeeding, even if the reason for that decision is simply “I don’t want to.”
Same here. I breastfed my kids for a total of over 2 years and never had any leakage. The babies might dribble a bit, but that was their fault, not mine!
So it’s possible she breastfed but is just not a leaker.
She has special rich people boobies.
I got curious and found several articles. This one is short and informative.
