Recipe using both oysters and snails

I have oysters and snails left from last night. I considered tossing them in a stew, but we just had Polish Dill Pickle Soup tonight and I don’t feel like having another milk-based soup (or any soup, actually) tomorrow night. The snails are from a can (surprisingly tasty and not chewy whatsoever.) The oysters are raw. I found a couple of recipes. One seems too bland; one seems too rich and highly caloric. How about a sort of stir fry with veggies? Any ideas? I guess I don’t have to combine them, but I threw them in a cannister together last night… Any ideas?

Baked Au Gratin w/Parmesan and garlic butter?

That’s one of the recipes that I found and it just seemed so heavy (both butter and cheese wise.) Maybe baked with a dusting of breadcrumbs and parmesan? Also thinking of a curry dish, perhaps.

And all I can hear right now is Lawrence Olivier…

His favorite pizza toppings. Yes! I am all over that!

The raw oysters you stuff into a New York cut or sirloin steak which you then grill. For the canned snails, cook them in butter and garlic, along with fresh scallops. Nice surf-and-turf to impress one’s boss.

My first thought, too.
Are you hosting a party showing the restored version of Spartacus?

(And, technically, you’re hearing Anthony Hopkins. The original soundtrack with Olivier’s delivery was corrupted, and so they re-recorded it with a much olsder Tony Curtis, and with Hopkins doing his pitch-perfect Olivier impersonation)

Tasting of what? - I’m genuinely curious, because I’ve never found snails to taste of anything at all, other than whatever they’re cooked in - i.e. garlic and butter or garlic and tomato.

I once had a seafood-themed Bad Film Festival at which I served food appropriate to the movie. For The Monster that Challenged the World I had snails (with shells), but nobody wanted to touch them. You have more tolerant friends than I do.

Or maybe jusat as unadventurous, since you had them left over.

Make Oysters Florentine, including the snails just because you have them.

If I hadn’t known what they were, I would’ve guessed mussels; but they’re a bit more tender.

Pizza!

You win! Just found a great recipe. I am making this for supper. Thank you!

It was excellent! I accidentally mixed the breadcrumbs and parmesan with the spinach mixture, instead of sprinkling it on top before baking. So it ended up with more of a “dressing” texture. We both loved it! I also added mushrooms.

Glad it worked out for you. It’s one of my favorites.

I’ve never eaten snails outside of a restaurant. Might be fun to try cooking them. How about a snail po’boy?
