I had a Brazilian boyfriend once, and he was quite the cook. His mom was even better.
Often she’d make dozens of these little turnovers. I remember them as round, but they might have been half-moon shaped. They could be served hot, but we’d usually have them cold. They were filled with a mixture of heart of palm and green olives.
I’d have to dig up some of my cookbooks from storage to locate something like this. Here’s a suggestion; Try using phyllo dough to fold up chopped palm hearts and green olives.
Was there some sort of sauce inside of them? Any spices?
Lots of websites will instruct you in the correct handling of phyllo dough (which you can buy in the frozen food section of most good grocery stores).
