So, I’m trying to buy a chair for the reading corner in my apartment. Can anyone recommend a decent one for less than $200?
A friend of mine has a chair and a half recliner they got at a crunch and dent sale [it had schmutz on the back corner which is faced towards the wall anyway so it didn’t matter to her.] It is seriously comfy because it is large enough to curl up in it, or treat it like a recliner. Flopping around in it with a bunch of small pillows and a couple cats is a great way to spend a day reading in front of a fire in the winter.
I have a nice wide armchair that I got secondhand. Its comfy sitting in it the “right” way, and the wideness means that I can lean a pillow against the wall (the chair sits in a corner with a wall behind and beside it) and lay across it sideways and be comfy that way as well. Kind of like this without the ottoman, or this (except that I would never pay that much).
rocking chairs are wonderful to read in.
the poang chairs from ikea are comfy. gliders are very nice and easy to find, most big box stores will have a version, target, walmart, kmart, etc.
