Recommend a web-based email package...

…eg, SquirrelMail, Horde, Neomail, etc.

I’m looking to run this on a web server in a DMZ. The SMTP server is on the same box, and the IMAP/LDAP server is behind the firewall.

Syncing with IMAP is essential, and SSL support would be nice.

I’m not necessarily averse to paying for something, but whatever it is, it’s gotta run on Linux. If I were looking at Exchange, Domino, or Groupwise, I’d just get everybody Blackberries.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I don’t have experience with any of these on the installation and configuration end, but have used Squirrel as a regular end-user and it’s decent and self-apparent.

Yeah. I was actually leaning toward SquirrelMail myself, since I know enough PHP to maintain it, but I’ve just been told by one of my managers that it Must Be In Perl.

Sooo… anybody got any other ideas?

I use AtMail and I really can’t say enough good things about it. I bought it for my own personal use after hopping from one free webmail service to another and never being satisfied. I’m running it on FreeBSD, but it should run on Linux just fine.

MySQL? You tease. Until I convince the boss to let me upgrade the box, I’m stuck with Perl. Damn, @mail looked nice, too.
