I’ve gotten random suggestions from folks that I know here, but I’m curious if there are any Dopers that have an interest in Chinese literature, too. I’ve started reading 阿莱’s (a lai) 尘埃落定 (chen’ai luoding) and am really digging it so far (well, in between all the looking up of words I’m digging it). It’s about the son of a Tibetan official (appointed by the Chinese government, of course), with a fairly biting insight into everything that world entails. The narrator’s also a bit of an irreverent bastard, which is unusual in my Chinese reading experiences.
Y’all have any favorites?
