*Key to Sex * is a lighthearted bedroom farce about a young would-be writer who is working as an office droid at a publishing firm. When his boss gives him the key to his posh seaside home so he can watch over it while boss goes on vacation, all his friends and office mates start wangling to get the key from him so they can have trysts there. It’s unusual among porn films in that it really does achieve a lighthearted feel despite the wooden acting, though it isn’t really rib-tickling funny.
Vicious Circles stars a red-hot Carolyn Lowery as a woman who’s living in Paris with her half-brother, apparently her lover (very sophisticated when it’s done in Paris, instead of, say, Tennessee). He gets involved in a drug-smuggling enterprise but doesn’t learn that his role in said enterprise is “patsy” until too late. (Actually, he’s been set up by the French wine-making industry, believe it or don’t). So Carolyn needs to make big bucks to get a lawyer good enough to get her brother out of jail. She learns about a group of millionaires called The Circle who pay women $2000 a day to be their sex slaves for hire. Meanwhile, the cops are on the trail of a Circle sex slave for hire found floating face down in the Seine River. Things occur. The key line in the movie is when Lowery says to an investigator she’s seducing: “Sometimes in chess, a pawn can become a queen.”
Passion Network is another story about wealthy people who contract to get sex partners by paying them large amounts of money. In this case, the targets are a young couple who have been spied on and nothing for their sexy abilities. They’re invited to a posh retreat where they have all sorts of sex, then are offered the position of paid havers-of-sex with attractive wealthy people. Hubby’s all for it (smart guy) but the wife is against it. The movie is in the form of flashbacks as the wife explains what happens as a result. A very twisty little plotline for a softcore story.
Now if you’re wanting vigorous sex scenes without penetration without all that slo-mo stuff softcore is infamous for, a lot of the more recent softcore stuff uses hardcore actresses and actors. Along those lines I’d recommend “I Dream of Genie” which is a softcore parody of the old TV series. It has some hardcore performers who know how to look like they are really doing it on camera, and it’s a fun little flick, too.
Do you mean I Dream of Jenna, with Jenna Jameson, the hottest pornstar on the planet?
I heard that movie sucked ass, and not in a literal sense. Wasn’t it widely panned? Jenna herself disparaged it on her E! True Hollywood Story or whatever. It was apparently a longtime dream of her husband’s, so she relented and agreed to do it to keep him happy.
Betty Blue (aka 37°2 le matin). Lots of sex, but more. It’s an engaging story of an emotionally unstable girl and a happy-go-luck guy that ranges from comedy to tragedy. Find the U.S. theatrical release if you can. The Director’s Cut offers some insight as to why certain things happen and why things that don’t happen don’t; but it’s overly-long (I think about 50% longer than the theatrical release) and can get tedious. AFAIK the theatrical release is only available on OOP VHS. This is one of my favourite foreign films.
Sex And Lucia (aka Lucía y el sexo) is a Spanish film about a young waitress who seeks refuge on a quiet island after the death of her boyfriend. Good erotic scenes, and a story that bears mutliple viewings.
By all means avoid A Real Young Girl (aka Une vraie jeune fille). Reviewers on IMDB liked it seven-to-one. But I thought it was dull, and I don’t see anything attractive about baby doll pyjamas covered in vomit or piss-shots.
Oh, it’s also available on OOP LaserDisc. (I have a bootleg VHS I made from a rental yonks ago, the DVD Director’s Cut, and the LaserDisc.) Again, since you mentioned netflix, the theatrical release is better than the Director’s Cut.
The first time I saw Secretary, I was repulsed and uncomfortable, because it seemed like she was emotionally unstable, and he was taking advantage of her and she didn’t even realize it. The more I thought about it later, I realized it was all kind of sweet, because they both really needed each other. It would still be MUCH hotter if the roles were reversed, though.
Good luck trying to find it, but Catch Your Dreams was pretty spiffy, caught it a bazillion years ago and nobody believes it actually exists. Wish they’d bring it out in DVD, sigh…
And another thumbs up for Secretary as well. The characters are such profoundly damaged people who heal each other in a way that no “normal” relationship could manage. The cinematography is lovely too.
** Romeo is Bleeding ** is pretty hot at times, if you’re not repulsed by Gary Oldman.
[slight hijack] Has anyone seen ** The Center of the World ** with Peter Sarsgaard as a dotcom millionaire and Parker Posey as a hooker? Any good? [/slight hijack]
Not a lot of grab-ass but if you like incredibly fit women in tight clothes using automatic weapons then Andy Sidaris is your man, especially Day of the Warrior, featuring Raye Hollitt!
