Cool; I’m happy to help.
No idea about Liquid Graveyard; I haven’t followed them since their first album. I thought it was interesting, but it didn’t grab me so much that I had to know what they were up to, so my recollection about the membership could be wrong.
And hey, now that I’ve got a range, this should be fun:
Jex Thoth - Nothing Left To Die - spacy folk doom that really helped set the template for female fronted doom bands (kinda unfortunately)
Jex Thoth - Son Of Yule
Female-fronted doom is practically it’s own genre these days, although it’s generally called occult doom or some such. The trappings of the genre don’t all have to be present of course, and there’s quite a bit of variation within the genre, but commonalities should be pretty apparent when you listen to a few bands like Blood Ceremony, Black Moth, Castle , etc.
If you like that kind of thing, I suggest giving a listen to the band that, IMO, first set down the template, way back in the mid-'80s:
Opal - Magick Power
Opal - Happy Nightmare Baby
Opal - Supernova
Even there, you can hear the influences plain as day; nobody tries to hide it in doom. FFS, it’s why we’re all there in the first place, ya know what I’m sayin’?
Skunk Anansie - The Skank Heads - UK punk-as-fuck rockers; have to be seen live to be believed
Skunk Anansie - Selling Jesus - ddamn I love this band’s first few albums
Curve - Hell Above Water - industrial alt metal
Curve - Chinese Burn
Challenge accepted! What language would you like?
Garmarna - Gamen - Swedish folk dance metal (I’ve posted this on the Dope before)
Garmarna - Varulven - Swedish/Middle Eastern folk dance metal
Seremonia - Kristalliarkki - Finnish retro occult doom/garage/psych rock
Seremonia - Itsemurhaaja
Cycle Sluts From Hell - I Wish You Were A Beer
