Xenogears, Xenogears, Xenogears. :smiley: I wholeheartedly agree with that suggestion. Best game EVERRRR, and I can’t say enough insanely good things about it.

I don’t actually own it myself, I lived with someone who owned it who now lives 6 hours away. This utterly DISTURBS me. I still check used videogame stores for it all the time, but I’ll probably wind up having to buy it on Ebay for an exorbitant price. :\ Bah!

Also, I recommend Grandia, that’s another favourite of mine. It’s a fun, lighthearted kind of RPG with lovable characters.

I am completely and utterly addicted to Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.

You’re a guy from the city who inherits his grandfather’s farm and have to learn all the ropes to raising crops, animals, and courting ladies and making friends in town. It sounds lame, but you WILL be addicted!a

A warning about Xenogears: It is pretentious, it ripped off Evangelion so badly, the plot makes no sense until after youve beaten the game, there are enormous emounts of badly-used western religious symbolism (its apparent the creators didn’t have the faintest idea what half of it meant, but wanted to toss that in to look deep) and the second disk consists of huge amounts of monologue and a few rare battles.

That said, it can be very, very fun.

Thanks, y’all, for all the suggestions. Picked up Oddworld yesterday and had thought about Speed Punks (recommended to me on another msg board) but I have to get another controller first. Then the Tzeroling and I hit the tracks! :smiley:
